<p>Description</p> <p>We're hiring a Technical Architect - Data for the Enterprise Architecture team in our Information Technology department. This position will partner with IT and line of business to build data solutions by interpreting architectural roadmaps, building proof of concept structures and systems, and ensuring technical capacity for future service delivery to internal business partners. Details about NEO will be provided upon hire.</p> <p>About the position type:</p> <p>This is a full-time, benefit earning position.</p> <p>This position is internally classified as an IT Enterprise Architect II.</p> <p>Click here to view the job classification specification.</p> <p>Employees may be eligible to receive an additional cash merit of up to $4,413.13 that can be earned annually based on performance.</p> <p>In this position, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Work with IT and line of business partners to build data solutions, including modern data warehouses. </li><li>Build data automation and monitoring practices. </li><li>Create and curate reusable sample libraries for integrations, code, automation, scripts, and configuration. </li><li>Build proof of concept solutions for emerging technology, such as a sample bot with integrated AI capabilities. </li><li>Drive deployment and adoption of new architecture; train and mentor IT Staff in new technology. </li><li>Document and communicate standards, guidelines, whitepapers, training options, and best practices. </li><li>Develop and refine technical methodologies relevant to the DataOps domain. </li><li>Consult with operation engineers in advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution. </li><li>Work with CloudOps to template infrastructure scripts when adding new data technology. </li></ul> <p>Need to have:</p> <p>One of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Eight years or more of professional IT experience in a large-scale network environment. </li><li>Approved Hennepin County IT internship or completion of five college/vocational technology courses and six years or more of professional IT experience in a large-scale network environment. </li><li>Associate's degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS), or a related field, or approved certification in an IT program and six years or more of professional IT experience in a large-scale network environment. </li><li>Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, management information systems (MIS), or a related field, and four years or more of professional IT experience in a large-scale network environment. </li></ul> <p>Nice to have:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience:</p> </li><li> <p>Working for a government organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Working in various IT backgrounds to partner with other domains (cloud, security, application, data, etc.).</p> </li><li> <p>In DataOps or Data Engineering.</p> </li><li> <p>In Data Architecture.</p> </li><li> <p>With application development or similar processes including:</p> </li><li> <p>Developing batch and real-time integrations.</p> </li><li> <p>Data modeling.</p> </li><li> <p>Database administration.</p> </li><li> <p>Web services, especially REST principles.</p> </li><li> <p>Process automation.</p> </li><li> <p>Using the following Technology Stack applications: Apache Atlas / Microsoft Purview, Apache Spark (Databricks and Synapse), Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, Azure Synapse, C# and various .NET libraries (ML.NET, Bot Framework, etc.), Cloud DBaaS platforms, Data Lake and Object Storage, Key Vault, Neo4j, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Python, and R (at least enough to read scripts from data science / analyst teams).</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated capability in complex technical implementations.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in at least one scripting or programming language.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of common technical environment technologies.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to:</p> </li><li> <p>Produce clear and consistent documentation.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate with people with various technical backgrounds, think analytically, write, and edit technical material, teach or mentoring peers and change management.</p> </li></ul> <p>About the department:</p> <p>Technology is the foundation of our work - and the work of every county employee.
