The ideal candidate will oversee the gifted education program, ensure that students are identified using multiple measures, and provide direct classroom instruction to identified students. The individual will also be expected to collaborate with classroom staff to provide differentiation strategies for gifted students.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Assist in the screening and identification of gifted students. </li><li>Provide direct instruction to students identified as gifted and talented. </li><li>Develop and implement a flexible, curriculum-based, enrichment program designed to meet the gifted pupils' academic needs while nurturing collaboration through group interaction. </li><li>Serve as a resource person for classroom teachers, providing materials, ideas, and differentiated instructional methods, to ensure appropriate educational experiences for gifted students in the regular classroom. </li><li>Work with administration to develop in-service training for colleagues, designed to foster the use of differentiated instructional strategies in order to meet the needs of gifted learners in the regular classroom. </li><li>Confer with parents concerning individual students. </li><li>Develop and maintain records and reports as necessary to assess the effectiveness of the program. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of identification methods for gifted students, including twice-exceptional students and multilingual learners. </li><li>Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, staff, and the community. </li><li>Ability to be self-directed and engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. </li><li>Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about best practices in gifted education. </li></ul> <p>Education and Certification/License</p> <ul> <li>Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate - Elementary Education </li><li>Gifted endorsement or graduate level work in gifted education preferred </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Experience with elementary age students required. </li></ul> <p>Compensation</p> <ul> <li>The position is paid in alignment with the Oradell Education Association salary guide with a range of $58,500 - $108,175. </li><li>This full-time position includes medical and dental benefits. </li></ul> <p>EEO</p>
