<p>General Statement of Duties</p> <p>Employee performs a variety of tasks to assist the Optometrist in eye examinations and corrective procedures. Employee records patient medical histories and helps with preparing the patient for the vision examination. Pretesting may include visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, pupil reflexes, visual field testing, pressure inside the eye, and blood pressure. Performs related duties as required.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications (KSAs)</p> <p>(Illustrative only. Any one position may not require all of the listed KSAs nor do the listed examples include all the KSAs which may be required.)</p> <p>Knowledge of:</p> <p>Providing customer and personal services.</p> <p>Eye care and vision care products and services.</p> <p>Clerical and administrative procedures.</p> <p>Current optical theory, materials, and practices.</p> <p>Functions, techniques, technical components, and maintenance procedures of optometric equipment.</p> <p>Physics, algebra, geometry, and mechanical drawing.</p> <p>Safety procedures.</p> <p>Skill to:</p> <p>Operate appropriate computer equipment; use properly all related hardware and software.</p> <p>Enter, transcribe, record, store, or maintain information in written or electronic/magnetic form.</p> <p>Ability to:</p> <p>Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.</p> <p>Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to perform tasks.</p> <p>Write clearly, concisely, and logically.</p> <p>Follow oral and written instructions.</p> <p>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.</p> <p>Maintain confidentiality of client information.</p> <p>Interact effectively with withdrawn and hostile clients.</p> <p>Make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.</p> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <p>Each applicant must be Certified Optometric Technician (copy of license required). Additionally each applicant must have a minimum of one year of experience as a Optometric Technician.</p>
