Their team is now looking for a Data Base Administrator.</p> <p>Salary/Hourly Rate:</p> <p>$70/hr</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>The Data Base Administrator must be highly skilled and experienced to manage, maintain, and optimize our organization's database systems. The Data Base Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of our databases, supporting critical business operations and data-driven initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of database technologies, strong problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to database management.</p> <p>Responsibilities of the Data Base Administrator:</p> <ul> <li>Install, configure, and upgrade database software (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and related tools. </li><li>Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies (e.g., query optimization, indexing, schema design adjustments) to ensure optimal speed and efficiency. </li><li>Establish and maintain robust database backup and recovery procedures, ensuring data integrity and availability in case of system failures or disasters. Conduct regular recovery tests. </li><li>Implement and enforce database security policies, including user access control, encryption, and auditing, to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access. </li><li>Diagnose and resolve complex database issues, including connectivity problems, data corruption, and performance degradation. Provide expert support to development teams and end-users. </li><li>Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as patching, space management, and integrity checks. Set up and manage database monitoring tools and alerts. </li><li>Implement and manage database replication, clustering, and other high-availability solutions to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation. </li><li>Monitor database growth and usage, performing capacity planning to ensure sufficient resources for future needs. </li><li>Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. </li><li>Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to support application development, deployments, and infrastructure projects. </li></ul> <p>Required Experience/Skills for the Data Base Administrator:</p> <ul> <li>5 years of proven experience as a Database Administrator, managing SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL in a production environment. </li><li>Strong expertise in DBMS such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or others relevant to the organization. </li><li>Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation and database tasks. </li><li>Experience with database backup and recovery tools and strategies. </li><li>Solid understanding of database security principles and best practices. </li><li>Familiarity with operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) as they relate to database environments. </li><li>Knowledge of database performance monitoring and tuning tools. </li><li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. </li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills; proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership. </li></ul> <p>Education Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, any related field, or equivalent practical experience. </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Atrium Care Package available, upon eligibility (including healthcare plans, discount programs, and paid time off). </li></ul>
