<p>Overview</p> <p>Electric Boat is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to serve as a critical team member in support of the nation's premier designer and builder of nuclear submarines</p> <p>Key Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Engage regularly with various Electric Boat functional groups including: Contracts, Program Office leads, and Finance </li><li>Participate in negotiations of multi-billion-dollar Government Contracts as well as significant vendor contracts, and provide comprehensive counsel throughout performance of those contracts </li><li>Support drafting and submission of Requests for Equitable Adjustment, Claims, and associated litigations </li><li>Collaborate with business leads in response to external audits (e.g. DCMA, GAO) </li><li>Review and negotiate Non-Disclosure Agreements </li><li>Actively manage Outside Counsel </li><li>Other responsibilities as may be assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required Education:</p> <ul> <li>Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in Connecticut or must be able to obtain licensing in Connecticut </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 4 years practicing law in either a law firm, government agency, or in-house specializing in transactions </li><li>Experience negotiating Government Contracts and strong familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) </li><li>Have or be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Top Secret level security clearance </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Relevant former Government experience </li><li>Experience with ITAR and EAR compliance </li><li>Familiarity with Government Regulations related to: </li><li>Post Government Employment </li><li>Conflicts of Interest </li><li>Freedom of Information Act </li><li>Foreign Corrupt Practices Act </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Excellent written and oral communication skills </li><li>Innovative problem-solver with superior collaborative and interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to identify and recommend risk mitigation strategies in business transactions </li><li>Must be flexible, detail-oriented, proactive, and organized in order to prioritize and support multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment </li></ul> <p>Environmental Attributes</p> <p>Inside</p>
