They empower employees, community members and initiatives across their service territory through volunteerism and investments in organizations that support education, sustainability and wellbeing.</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>JOB PURPOSE</p> <p>Assist engineers and management in engineering planning and design of electric distribution system expansion and maintenance.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Meet with customers to determine their electrical service needs. </li><li>Prepare or assist in preparation of field layouts of routine jobs; such as staking, sketching, inventories, estimates, work request preparation and materials utilizing company work management and graphical design tools </li><li>Make, or assist in making, routine technical surveys or analyses; such as load balance or voltage drop calculations </li><li>Inspect work for conformance to drawings and specifications </li><li>Acquire or assist in the acquisition of distribution easements </li><li>Perform surveying and general transit work </li><li>Settle damage claims pertaining to construction and rebuilding of lines </li><li>Prepare engineering drawings from work prints and field notes </li><li>Perform and assist technical employees with routine engineering duties in office, </li><li>Assist, as necessary, in storm restoration </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned </li><li>Complies with all policies and standards </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required Education</p> <p>Beginning - Associate's degree in technical discipline such as electrical engineering or design drafting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis</p> <p>Intermediate - Associate degree in technical discipline such as electrical engineering or design drafting and a minimum of three years working in a utility industry, technical industry or engineering industry; or a High School Diploma and a minimum of five years working in a utility industry, technical industry or engineering industry.</p> <p>Senior - Associate's degree in technical discipline such as electrical engineering or design drafting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis and 5+ years working on electric distribution systems with 3 of those years assisting engineers in the planning and design of distribution system expansion and maintenance.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of electric delivery system, construction standards, materials and equipment, basic math, algebra and trigonometry functions. </li><li>Above average interpersonal relations, communication, organizing and analytical skills and fully competent computer knowledge. </li></ul>
