<p>Job Title Peer Leadership Educator Special Instructions to Applicants</p> <p>Paid training will take place in April before summer break, and again in August before duties begin.</p> <p>Posting Number 20161592STD Job Description</p> <p>Peer Leadership Educators (PLE) engage the Ohio University student community in leadership development through peer-driven training sessions and coaching. The Center for Student Engagement and Leadership (CSEL) is striving to make leadership development accessible for all Ohio University students, with a focus on the awareness, development, and articulation of core leadership competencies and their application to good citizenship and meaningful work. PLEs will lead trainings, retreats, and workshops. All work will be done in collaboration with the Executive Director and Associate Director of Student Leadership in the Center for Student Engagement and Leadership. The CSEL is seeking motivated leaders who are excited about defining their personal leadership skills and engaging the Ohio University student body in new leadership opportunities.</p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Create and facilitate leadership workshops and presentations weekly for the campus community </li><li>Engage in leadership coaching with CSEL staff </li><li>Facilitate weekend leadership development retreats </li><li>Assist in development and delivery of leadership peer coaching program </li><li>Participate in mandatory training and personal leadership development prior to facilitating leadership training programs </li><li>Attend ongoing training and professional development through staff meetings and supervision </li><li>Keep organized files and records of training requests, presentations and pre and post assessments </li><li>Promote Leadership trainings to the campus community </li><li>Evenings and weekends required </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Benefits of this position:</p> <ul> <li>Define personal leadership style and gain new leadership skills </li><li>Public speaking and communication skills </li><li>Teamwork and relationship building </li><li>Problem solving </li><li>Creation and facilitation of presentations to diverse audiences </li><li>Continuous engagement in leadership training and professional development </li><li>Event management and facilitation </li><li>Customer service skills </li><li>Goal setting </li><li>Conflict management </li><li>Engagement with the Ohio university student body and Athens community </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Prior leadership experience- in your community, with an OHIO student organization, at work, with a non-OHIO organization, etc. </li><li>Organizational skills and attention to detail </li><li>Ability to display professionalism when dealing with the campus community and fellow CSEL employees </li><li>Time management skills </li><li>Communication skills, both verbal and written </li><li>Adaptable, motivated, creative </li><li>Ability to collaborate and work autonomously </li><li>Flexibility to work an unstructured schedule each week/weekend during the academic year </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Leadership training experience </li><li>Presentation and program facilitation experience </li><li>Public speaking experience </li></ul> <p>Department VP For Student Affairs Pay Rate</p> <p>$13/hour</p> <p>Posting Open Date Posting End Date 09/30/2025 Job Category Student Hourly Planning Unit Vice President for Student Affairs Work Schedule</p> <p>10 hours/week</p> <p>Campus Athens Applicants may contact this person if they have questions about this position. moscouver@ohio.edu Non-Discrimination Statement</p> <p>Ohio University is proud of its rich history and as part of our ongoing efforts to provide and support a transformative learning experience, we affirm our commitment to fostering a welcoming and respectful workforce and community.
