<p>Why do we need you ?</p> <p>The MRO Buyer will be responsible for the procurement of parts, equipment, and materials for Saint-Gobain Abrasives location in Worcester, MA.</p> <ul> <li>Will identify suppliers, negotiate prices, monitor supplier performance, support timely payment processing, and address supplier quality issues. </li><li>Will support our customers by monitoring and supporting requirements and inventory levels. </li></ul> <p>Key Accountabilities:</p> <p>Complete purchase requests with domestic and international suppliers by inputting purchase orders, expediting deliveries, and verifying all transactions.</p> <p>Handle correspondence concerning over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices and report such changes to the interested parties in a timely manner.</p> <p>Act as a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve procurement related problems.</p> <p>Ensure stock status is reviewed and acted on routinely to ensure requisitions are placed in a timely fashion. Pro-actively communicate with internal customers when issues arise.</p> <p>Confirm, acknowledge and monitor purchase orders. React to SAP exception messages including expediting materials, updating PO status and interacting with the local team and suppliers to have material when needed.</p> <p>Plan, purchase and expedite material, equipment and services on a broad assignment basis involving important and critical items.</p> <p>Process non-conforming material requests and RMA (CPAR) requests with supply chain partners.</p> <p>Authorize payment for purchases by reviewing invoices and related documentation.</p> <p>Resolve inventory, receiving, pricing and transportation issues as it pertains to procurement.</p> <p>Maintain appropriate inventory levels / safety stock levels consistent with targeted inventory goals to support the customer as set by management. Monitors the maintenance of records regarding (IR) pricing and ordering of materials; prepares reports analysis and recommendations.</p> <p>Attend regular meetings for specific product lines and understand materials impact.</p> <p>Monitor supplier performance by ensuring that product is delivered as scheduled and meets specifications; maintain appropriate files and records of meetings with suppliers to ensure company requirements are met and that supplier is aware of their performance.</p> <p>Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and training.</p> <p>Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other job-related tasks as needed; enabling other workers to achieve their job objectives.</p> <p>Supply requirements to manufacturing locations that support the needs of the factory and ensures that factory production is not disrupted. Continuously evaluate, understand, and update the stock status as necessary. The internal and external lead-time, re-order point and the lot size must be updated on a regular basis and the latest data must be entered in SAP system.</p> <p>Any known delivery delays or Issues need to be communicated to production.</p> <p>Communicate frequently with internal customers and suppliers regarding, customer service, process improvements and cost saving ideas. Maintain strong relationship with internal Customers (Manufacturing, R&D, Quality Groups and Facilities). Respond immediately to requests. Anticipate and prepare for potential issues. Document lessons learned.</p> <p>Demonstrate effective utilization of existing purchasing planning policies, procedures, systems, and documented processes. Recommend and drive improvements. Keep up to date on best practice purchasing skills.</p> <p>Establishes blanket purchase agreements with vendors setting dollar limitations and time of contract limitations.</p> <p>Support all WCP (World Class Purchasing) requirements.</p> <p>Is this job for you ?</p> <p>1-3 years of experience working in an industrial/manufacturing environment in planning, industrial engineering, project management or inventory control; Required.</p> <p>Excellent computer skills with Excel and ERP system software experience (preferably SAP) is a must.</p> <p>Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.</p> <p>Strong analytical skills, combined with good oral and written communication skills, problem-solving and follow up will lead to success at this position; Required.</p> <p>A little more about us</p> <p>Saint-Gobain is a leading worldwide producer of abrasives, building materials, high-performance plastics, insulation, flat glass, glass containers, piping, reinforcements, and industrial ceramics.</p> <p>The Saint-Gobain Bonded Abrasives manufacturing facility is the manufacturer of bonded abrasives; natural or synthetic grains molded into numerous shapes of grinding wheels. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position, which is $81,500to $126,500 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.</p> <p>In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $89,650 to $139,150.
