<p>Hamilton College is conducting a national search for a Campus Investigator and Threat Assessment Coordinator who will be responsible for conducting thorough and equitable investigations into complaints of sexual misconduct, harassment, and discrimination, as well as evaluating potential threats to the safety of the campus community. This dual-role position involves working to protect the well-being of students, faculty, and staff while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in investigations, crisis management, and threat assessment, and will contribute to the development and implementation of safety plans and interventions.</p> <p>This is an exempt position with a pay range of $68,000 - $78,000.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Campus Investigator Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct Investigations: Lead investigations into complaints related to sexual misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation, utilizing on-site, phone, and Zoom interviews with students and employees. </li><li>Training and Coordination: Oversee and coordinate the training of on-campus staff involved in investigating complaints of misconduct and discrimination. </li><li>Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed and organized investigation notes and records. Draft comprehensive reports, including interim recommendations and findings,. Participate in hearings and depositions as needed. </li><li>Stay Informed on Legal Compliance: Stay current with relevant federal statutes and regulations such as Title IX, Section 504, Title VI, Title VII, and Clery Act. Support Clery Compliance Office in ensuring accurate reporting of Title IX-related data for the annual Clery Report. </li><li>Collaboration with Campus Safety and Legal Counsel: Support Campus Safety with investigations and collaborate with legal counsel on any related matters. </li><li>Diversity and Inclusion Efforts: Actively contribute to the development of a diverse, inclusive, and equitable campus community. </li></ul> <p>Threat Assessment Coordinator Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Threat Identification and Assessment: Monitor reports and concerns from students, staff, faculty, and law enforcement regarding potential threats. Investigate concerning behaviors through analysis of social media, communication patterns, and past incidents. Apply established frameworks to assess severity. </li><li>Intervention and Response Planning: Work with campus safety,, counseling services, and other departments to create intervention strategies and safety plans for individuals deemed to be at risk or potential threats. Implement temporary restrictions and increased monitoring where needed. Coordinate with law enforcement in high-risk situations. </li><li>Education and Awareness: Develop and deliver educational programs to faculty, staff, and students on recognizing and reporting potential threats. Promote a culture of safety on campus. </li><li>Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of threat assessments, interventions, and follow-up actions. Provide regular updates to relevant campus leadership regarding potential threats. </li><li>Collaboration and Communication: Build relationships with key campus stakeholders, including student organizations, academic departments, and residential staff, to facilitate communication on threat assessment matters. </li></ul>
