<p>TITLE: Material Handler</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor</p> <p>STATUS: Full-Time, Regular, Non-Exempt, Hourly</p> <p>REPRESENTATION: UAW Local 135</p> <p>WORK LOCATION(S): 1040 40th St SE Wyoming, MI 49508</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for parts warehouse organization and correct ERP inventory including incoming and work in process materials. Supply all materials needed for production areas for on time build.</p> <p>PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Understands the upcoming production requirements and priorities. </li><li>Prints the overall dispatch list and the individual order picks lists and highlights any obvious shortages. </li><li>Communicates shortages to supervisors by providing documentation of open shop orders requiring completion or open POs to be supplied to planners. </li><li>Verify and put away all incoming materials to the proper location in the Warehouse and complete location transfer in the ERP system. </li><li>Physically picks all parts required for each job and transacts any material movement in the ERP system using scanners, computers, or other devices. </li><li>Pull, kit and stage all parts to the specified production area. </li><li>Performs any scrap transactions in ERP system to maintain inventory accuracy. </li><li>Continued follow-up with supply departments regarding required shop orders and their completion. </li><li>Coordinates with Production Planning on timing of PO receipts. </li><li>Communicates shortages to Team Leaders and Supervisors. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED. </li><li>1+ years relevant experience in production material handing </li><li>1+ years sitting and standing forklift experience and ability to obtain a license. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS & ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions. </li><li>In-depth knowledge of the ERP system. </li><li>Strong understanding of the overall product flow within the operation. </li><li>Extensive knowledge of individual parts and warehouse locations. </li><li>Good communication skills (verbal and written). </li><li>Ability to work regular schedules set forth by the Management team. </li><li>Must be a strong team player. </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Standing for entire shift. </li><li>Able to lift up to 40 pounds. </li><li>Able to twist, bend, stoop as needed. </li><li>Safety shoes are required. </li><li>Safety glasses are required. </li></ul> <p>This job description is intended to describe the type and level of work being performed by a person assigned to this job.
