<p>Education Requirements:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree (minimum): In fields such as Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.</p> <p>Master's or Ph.D. (preferred for advanced roles): A higher degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, or Aerospace Manufacturing could be beneficial for specialized research and development responsibilities.</p> <p>Experience Requirements:</p> <p>Process Engineering Experience: 3-5 years of experience developing, optimizing, and improving metallurgical processes.</p> <p>Aerospace Industry Experience: Previous experience working with high-performance aerospace components, coatings, and quality control.</p> <p>Vendor Coordination & Supply Chain Knowledge: Familiarity with external vendor management and coating applications for aerospace tools.</p> <p>Manufacturing & Process Improvement: Strong background in Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, or process improvement methodologies.</p> <p>Technical Support & Documentation: Experience writing work instructions, training personnel, and ensuring manufacturing consistency.</p> <p>New Product Introduction (NPI): Understanding of tooling development, capital expenditure research, and onboarding new vendors for advanced manufacturing processes.</p> <p>Knowledge of advanced coatings technology (e.g., thermal barrier coatings, protective aerospace coatings).</p> <p>Expertise in metallurgical failure analysis (root cause identification & corrective actions).</p> <p>This position is responsible for developing robust processes that consistently meet or exceed our customers' requirements for the metallurgical quality and performance of aerospace components. Also, continuous improvement of processes by improving methods and developing new methods of manufacturing, leading to increased yields and reduced labor content.</p> <ul> <li>External Vendor Coating Performance - Investigates and analyzes root cause; Develops and implements correction action plans. Track coating life and 1st time coating yield. </li><li>Tool Cleaning Process Management: Improve and or Implement Best Practice Controls for Tool Cleanliness prior to coating. Maintain Best Practice by performing daily audits. </li><li>Process Development and Improvement - Monitors/analyzes yield, labor, and materials data to develop process improvement ideas for new and established processes. </li><li>Manufacturing Support - Monitors manufacturing output to ensure process control; Responds to manufacturing needs: training, work instructions and interpretation; Creates and updates work instructions needed to perform manufacturing processes. </li><li>General Technical Support - Conducts meetings and provides technical data to meet customer needs. </li><li>NPI Engineering: Develop Best Coating Practice and Vendor for new tooling designs. Onboard New Vendor or New Coating formulations. </li><li>Capital Expenditure: Research and testing of new equipment and tools for future improvements and growth. </li><li>Tooling Development and Build - Attends NPI meeting and provides input based on customer specifications for Coating Process by ensuring Tool Substrate (Roughness & Tool Steel) and Tool Geometry are compatible with Vendor Process. </li></ul>
