This hands-on experience provides a comprehensive look at both the strategic and operational sides of retail - starting with sourcing and buying, followed by shop floor and warehouse operations.</p> <p>What You'll Gain:</p> <ul> <li>A well-rounded understanding of the retail lifecycle - from product planning to customer experience. </li><li>Real-world skills in buying, logistics, inventory, and in-store operations. </li><li>Opportunities to collaborate with diverse teams across the business. </li><li>Mentorship and guidance from seasoned retail professionals. </li></ul> <p>Program Overview:</p> <p>Weeks 1-4: Sourcing & Buying</p> <p>Kick off your internship by exploring the strategic backbone of retail - product selection, vendor relations, and trend forecasting.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Product Research:</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the buying team with brand sourcing and product development research.</p> </li><li> <p>Review guest survey feedback and provide recommendations based on data.</p> </li><li> <p>Supplier Engagement:</p> </li><li> <p>Get introduced to vendor communication and relationship-building practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Sit in on product selection meetings and participate in sample reviews.</p> </li><li> <p>Buying Process:</p> </li><li> <p>Learn the steps of assortment planning, margin calculation and replenishment forecasting.</p> </li><li> <p>Help monitor purchase order progress, timelines and product performance metrics.</p> </li></ul> <p>Weeks 5-8: Shop & Warehouse Operations</p> <p>Build your operational knowledge by working on the ground in our stores and warehouse facilities.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Store Interactions:</p> </li><li> <p>Engage in daily store functions such as customer service, merchandising, and stock needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Learn the essentials of visual merchandising</p> </li><li> <p>Warehouse Operations:</p> </li><li> <p>Understand the product flow from receipt to shelf or customer shipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with inventory organization, tracking, and fulfillment processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Gain exposure to retail tech systems for managing orders and stock levels.</p> </li></ul> <p>Must comply with all company policies and procedures.</p> <p>To perform the essential functions of this position regular and consistent attendance is required.</p> <p>Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers and interact with our guests.</p> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in customer service or retail preferred </li></ul> <p>COMPUTER SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Must be capable of learning new computer software programs quickly </li><li>Have solid computer and various software knowledge: POS, Inventory systems, Excel, Word, Outlook </li></ul> <p>LANGUAGE SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Must be able to effectively communicate with guests, team members and managers </li></ul> <p>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Basic knowledge and understanding of math </li></ul> <p>REASONING ABILITY</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. </li><li>Must be able to stand for long periods of time </li><li>Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle or golf cart </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <ul> <li>Retail gift shop / Storage Areas </li><li>4,200 acres of Blackberry Farm property </li><li>Must be able to work in a fast paced and demanding guest service environment </li></ul> <p>About Blackberry</p> <p>Blackberry Farm is a Relais & Châteaux property that has provided world renowned hospitality to family, friends and guests for almost 50 years.
