Auditing with Integrity.</p> <p>Make a Difference - Join the Honolulu Liquor Commission!"</p> <p>The Honolulu Liquor Commission, Department of Budget and Fiscal Services, is hiring aLiquor Control Auditor I, located in Honolulu. This position conducts independent audits and examinations of gross liquor sales of all classes and kinds of liquor licensees in accordance with the audit procedures and rules and regulations prescribed by the Liquor Commission and Liquor Laws of Hawaii.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li>Examine each gross liquor sales report, submitted annually or upon license transfer, to the Commission to determine if a full audit is warranted. </li><li>Audit the bookkeeping and accounting records of licensees to verify the accuracy of gross liquor sales reports submitted to the Liquor Commission. </li><li>Verify the accuracy of daily sales records, liquor inventory, purchase invoices, and other records related to the liquor establishment. </li><li>Participate in and cooperate with investigations related to license fees. </li><li>Prepare written reports of findings and evaluation of facts regarding any discrepancies found to have been misreported to the Liquor Commission for each completed audit. </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Apply today! Data and text messaging fees apply.</p> <p>Minimum Qualification Requirements</p> <p>At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.</p> <p>EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:</p> <p>Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major work in accounting, economics, public administration, or business administration.</p> <p>Substitution: A bachelor's degree in another major may be creditable towards the education requirement provided it included completion of at least 12 semester credits in accounting or auditing courses, six of which are upper-level (300 and up) courses.</p> <p>The education requirement must be met at the time of application. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at an accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, proper documentation, e.g., a foreign credential evaluation (FCE), must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.</p> <p>Verification Requirement: In order to be given credit for your education, clearly list your education credentials on your application. As part of the hiring process, you may be asked to furnish documentation to verify your education to satisfy this education qualification requirement. All information on your documentation must be legible and complete in order to be given credit.</p> <p>If you do not have your documentation to verify your education at this time, please note that if selected for the job, you will need to furnish verification documents in order to move forward in the hiring process.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:</p> <p>Two (2) years of experience in the field of accounting and/or auditing involving use of professional accounting techniques and principles.</p> <p>Such experience must have demonstrated:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of the theory and practice of commercial accounting. </li><li>Knowledge of the preparation and analysis of financial statements and transactions. </li><li>Knowledge of theories, techniques, and methods of auditing financial accounts and transactions. </li><li>Knowledge of laws, ordinances, and regulations governing financial recording. </li><li>Ability to perform accurate, detailed analysis of accounting and financial records. </li><li>Ability to interpret regulatory material; and prepare audit and other reports. </li></ul> <p>Non-Qualifying Experience: Having the required number of years of experience will not in itself be accepted as qualifying for the position. Your overall experience must have been of such scope, level, and responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position.Experience in positions where the duties did not require full professional knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles and/or auditing standards is not considered qualifying.</p> <p>LICENSE REQUIREMENT:</p> <p>Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license (automobile/Type 3), prior to appointment.</p> <p>Examination Process</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE EVALUATION:</p> <p>In addition to meeting the above minimum qualifications, your application will be further evaluated. Your score will be based on the quality and quantity of your education, experience and/or other related job requirements and competencies applicable to the position.
