<p>Two Positions Available.</p> <p>Are you a certified technical school graduate in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or a related trade with two years of hands-on experience in general maintenance? Chatham County Facilities Maintenance and Operations invites you to join our team as a Building Maintenance Mechanic, where you'll apply your skilled expertise in various trades and contribute to the efficient operation of our facilities.</p> <p>Under general direction, you</p> <ul> <li>Perform skilled and complex journeyperson level maintenance and repair work in various trades, including carpentry, masonry, electrical work, painting, plumbing, and/or heating and air conditioning.  </li><li>Perform preventative maintenance. </li><li>Operate a County vehicle. </li><li>May use your instructional skills to supervise other employees.  </li><li>Read blueprints and sketches.  </li><li>Perform work that is physically demanding, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.  </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li><li>High School Diploma or GED, with vocational or technical school certification in at least one of the following: electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or a related trade, and  </li><li>Two (2) years of experience in general maintenance; or  </li><li>Any equivalent combination of training and experience.  </li><li>Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.  </li><li>Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.  </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in the repair of commercial building systems. </li></ul>
