<p>POSITION SUMMARY: In collaboration with the Supervisor / Manager, the WFS will monitor, assist, and work to improve all aspects of departmental safety, quality, productivity and delivery and follow direction of the Manager for setting department production expectations and measures. The Work Flow Specialist will take charge of the shift in Production Supervisor's absence. Will assist Production Supervisor in maintaining daily production paperwork and data entry. Will monitor daily shift operations and inform Production Supervisor of potential issues. Will work in collaboration with employees and management team to enforce safety and quality policies and procedures as dictated by company's policy manuals. Responsible for ensuring training of new employees. The WFS will occasionally perform same labor functions as the workers being supervised.</p> <p>Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>In collaboration with the Supervisor / Manager, the WFS will:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure safe operations throughout the department </li><li>Eliminate, prevent or put countermeasures in place for all quality issues </li><li>Meet and exceed the daily productivity/output objectives </li><li>Play a key role in all other departmental metrics </li><li>Communicate with all team members daily </li><li>Search for continuous improvement and waste elimination opportunities </li><li>Be a role model relative to care and maintenance of the workplace. Ensure that equipment and machines are maintained in safe and good working condition </li></ul> <p>The WFS is expected to:</p> <ul> <li>Provide work direction to Assembly Operators and Line Coordinators </li><li>Be an attendance role model by being at work, on time, each scheduled work day </li><li>Drive employees to get excited about work and use reinforcing feedback methods to encourage good work habits </li><li>Explain why and impress upon the team a sense of urgency to reach the team goals and to get things done </li><li>Participate in solution of production problems on an ongoing basis </li><li>Be the first contact to help solve team member problems </li><li>Encourage the use of Lean tools and methods to properly solve problems </li><li>Occasionally perform labor functions as needed </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li><li>Collect data, maintain metrics, monitor trends, and report to supervision on the health and well-being of manufacturing. </li><li>This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position. Employees will be required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties requested by their supervisor. </li></ul> <p>JOB SCOPE:</p> <p>The WFS will have thorough knowledge of all departmental operations and the ability to demonstrate process proficiency. The WFS will be able to provide immediate process or assembly back up for any absenteeism.</p> <p>The WFS will meet with his/her Supervisor / Manager and cross shift counterparts daily at the beginning and end of the shift. The WFS coordinates daily work assignments and will hold daily Tier meetings to: review the previous day's metric results, receive any CI suggestions, communicate the day's issues and gain understanding of operator concerns.</p> <p>The WFS is expected to conduct new employee introductions and orientation specific to operations; facilitated skills assessment and conduct or facilitate on-the-job training.</p> <p>The WFS is expected to coordinate on-the-job-training specific to cross-training, driving to the goal that all team members are expected to be capable of operations in multiple work stations. It is the expectation that the WFS have sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities so to allow for multi-functionality within the department.</p> <p>Education, Training and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Supervisory experience preferred </li><li>Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office Suite </li><li>Must have a strong ability to multi task and prioritize daily responsibilities </li><li>High School diploma or equivalent. </li><li>Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. </li><li>Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required. </li><li>High level of discretion, confidentiality and work ethics. </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate </li><li>Ability to successfully multi task in a fast pace environment. </li></ul> <p>Must be certified in CPR, First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens.</p> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes. </li><li>Position requires full range of body motion including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and lift 50 pounds </li><li>Ability to mount/dismount and operate industrial equipment and vehicles. </li><li>Ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 hours. </li></ul> <p>EEO-M/F/DISABLED/VETS EMPLOYER</p>
