<p>At NorthBay Health, the OB Sonographer in the Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) clinic is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations for high-risk obstetric patients. This role supports providers by obtaining detailed fetal imaging and ensuring accurate documentation. The Sonographer embodies NorthBay's True North values by delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining excellence and integrity in all imaging services.</p> <p>PRIMARY JOB DUTIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Performs high risk obstetric ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts advanced imaging including anatomy scans, BPPs, Dopplers, and NT studies.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists and instructs patients prior to and during examinations.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for evaluating each study to ensure it meets required quality standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for patient confidentiality, safety and well-being during examinations.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for inspecting and cleaning equipment prior to and after each patient.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborates with MFM providers and OB care team.</p> </li><li> <p>Reports all equipment failures and/or malfunctions to the Diagnostic Imaging outpatient supervisor.</p> </li><li> <p>Reports all patient complaints and discrepancies to the supervisor.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program required. </li></ul> <p>Licensure:</p> <ul> <li> <p>RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) required</p> </li><li> <p>OB/GYN specialty certification (RDMS-OB/GYN) required</p> </li><li> <p>Nuchal Translucency (NT) certification preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Current BLS certification required</p> </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Minimum 2 years of OB/GYN sonography experience required.</p> </li><li> <p>MFM or high-risk obstetrics experience strongly preferred.</p> </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Advanced proficiency in obstetric ultrasound imaging</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of fetal anatomy, pathology, and high-risk conditions</p> </li><li> <p>Strong attention to detail and accuracy</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to manage high patient volumes and urgent cases</p> </li><li> <p>Effective communication and documentation skills</p> </li></ul> <p>Hours of Work:</p> <ul> <li>Based on business need; typically Monday through Friday, clinic hours </li></ul>
