If you have questions concerning this position, you may contact Wendy Spurlock, Fine Arts Department, at (513)887-4816.</p> <p>Assistant Marching Band Director</p> <p>Hamilton High School</p> <p>Hamilton City School District</p> <p>Job Goal: The Assistant Marching Band Director will assist in leading the marching band program at Hamilton High School under the leadership of the Band Director and the Supervisor of Fine Arts.</p> <p>Reports to: Supervisor of Fine Arts</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>The assistant band director will:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Serve as a role model for students</p> </li><li> <p>Encourage and inspire all students to grow, develop and be successful</p> </li><li> <p>Lay the foundation for life-long skills of commitment, resilience, and responsibility</p> </li><li> <p>Establish procedures that address all safety concerns</p> </li><li> <p>Train team members in the areas of safety and care for each other</p> </li><li> <p>Explicitly teach and ensure professional standards for student performances</p> </li><li> <p>Embrace and teach the philosophy of working together and contributing to a purpose larger than oneself</p> </li><li> <p>Co-leader of band camp</p> </li><li> <p>Co-leader of Saturday Camps (all day rehearsals)</p> </li><li> <p>Co-leader for three to four rehearsals per week after school. Rehearsals are three hours-minimum</p> </li><li> <p>Co-leader of all band performances</p> </li><li> <p>Co-Directs band</p> </li><li> <p>Co-directs drill</p> </li><li> <p>May specialize in visual presentation</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as a technician for instrumentalists</p> </li><li> <p>Present at all performances (as a co-conductor/technician/supervisor)</p> </li><li> <p>May specialize in color guard and visual design</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications Profile:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Background in the Performing Arts</p> </li><li> <p>Marching Band Performing and/or Teaching Experience</p> </li><li> <p>Drum Corp Experience Preferred</p> </li><li> <p>High-quality oral and written communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Strong organizational and planning skills</p> </li><li> <p>Open to new ideas and the ability to adapt to change</p> </li><li> <p>Awareness of, and appreciation for, individual uniqueness and diversity</p> </li><li> <p>Awareness of safety concerns and risk management</p> </li><li> <p>Pupil Activity Permit: requirements established by the HCSD Board of Education</p> </li></ul> <p>Conduct: Each staff member shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance and abuse of any prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.</p> <p>Each staff member shall serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings.
