<p>The Security Guard patrols and monitors assigned areas to protect library patrons, employees, buildings, and property. If you have a passion for helping people, love books and learning, and desire to be part of a team that does transformative work every day, then NPL just might be the place for you.</p> <ul> <li>Patrols library property on foot or with a vehicle. </li><li>Maintains order and calls for police assistance when needed. </li><li>Enforces Library Rules of Conduct. </li><li>Monitors and operates various security devices/systems. </li><li>Prepares written and oral reports as needed. </li><li>Gives direction and provides other information to employees and the public. </li><li>Rotates being on call for after-hours alarm calls.  </li><li>Acts as key responder for emergency after hour calls.    </li><li>May file arrest warrants on behalf of the library and appear in court as a witness. </li><li>May lead and coordinate the work of contract security officers. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>High School Diploma or equivalent.   </p> <p>Must obtain State Certification for Unarmed Guards within the first 6 months of employment.</p> <p>REQUIRED LICENSES:</p> <p>Valid Driver's License </p> <p>Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.</p> <p>Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078.
