Implementation of positive and consistent expectations will provide both emotional and physical safety to each individual student.</p> <p>Role Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Supervises students in the cafeteria during lunch periods in serving lines, while eating, during outdoor and indoor recess and cafeteria dismissal </li><li>Escort students to lunchroom, restrooms, lockers and nurse's office, as necessary </li><li>Dismiss students from lunch in an orderly fashion </li><li>Assist students with lining up and monitor behavior when students receive their lunches </li><li>Direct safe movement of groups of students to and from recess area, which may include walking through parking and bus loading areas </li><li>Encourage students to engage in appropriate recess activities, recommend activities as necessary and maintaining an orderly recess environment </li><li>Assist staff in lunchroom clean-up </li><li>Wash lunchroom tables and provide general clean up between lunch periods and after the last lunch period each day </li><li>Ensure play equipment is used safely and notify the building principal of any equipment in need of repair </li><li>Familiarize students with and enforce a set of appropriate and expected behavioral guidelines and consequences during lunch and recess time </li><li>Reports all student accidents and/or incidents to the supervising teacher immediately or as soon as possible </li><li>Additional duties may be assigned </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma (or equivalent) </li><li>Ability to work with adults and children in a positive manner </li><li>Ability to supervise large groups of students </li><li>Must be dependable and punctual </li><li>Ability to regularly lift a minimum of 10 pounds and up to 25 pounds as necessary </li><li>Citizenship, residency, or work visa required </li></ul> <p>Physical Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Work involves student interaction, and is performed indoors, and outdoors, in all weather conditions. </li><li>Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and stooping are required. </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>Salem Public School District is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital/civil union status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status, veteran status, political affiliation, genetic information or disability, as defined and required by state and federal laws.
