<p>Summary:</p> <p>To provide counseling in a group and individual setting to promote stability and improvement for individuals struggling with mental health/substance use illnesses.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Demonstrates understanding of Hospital?s Mission Vision and Values.</p> <p>Demonstrates understanding of job description performance expectations and competency assessment plan.</p> <p>Demonstrates a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers and consistently adheres to our Customer Service Standards.</p> <p>Complies with department and hospital policies and procedures.</p> <p>Completes mandatory education.</p> <p>Participates in or leads departmental and / or interdepartmental committees or quality improvement teams.</p> <p>Maintains confidentiality of records relating to patient care according to HIPPA and Brown University Health policies</p> <p>Facilitates group and individual counseling sessions designed to promote improved stability functioning and recovery from mental health/addiction challenges</p> <p>Participates in group development and interventions designed to meet the treatment needs of patients</p> <p>Guides clients in the development of coping skills and strategies to deal with stressors and life issues</p> <p>Provides encouragement to patients to allow for disclosure insightand understanding of life stressors and issues</p> <p>Acts as an advocate to help coordinate services and information that might impact patient well being or emotional stability</p> <p>Collects information about patients through therapeutic involvement and observation that may be relevant for treatment</p> <p>Prepares and maintain all required notes treatment records and reports</p> <p>Participates with the multidisciplinary treatment team to develop a treatment plan for each individual patient</p> <p>Attends team rounds treatment team meetings and other relevant meetings around program planning</p> <p>Demonstrates knowledge of computer skills and uses these skills as appropriate.</p> <p>Collaborates with medical staff Hospital and Department</p> <p>staff and community agencies to provide a seamless continuum of care for the patient.</p> <p>Documents on the medical record in accordance with Department policy.</p> <p>Enhances professional skills through continuing education and participation in clinical supervision as needed.</p> <p>Demonstrates knowledge of all applicable community state and federal programs.</p> <p>Participates in Utilization Review functions as it pertains to psychiatric authorizations</p> <p>Ensures all departmental forms/statistics are completed</p> <p>on time.</p> <p>Supervises as assigned graduate and undergraduate field placement students.</p> <p>As appropriate in-services community groups and staff on health / mental health related topics.</p> <p>Performs other duties as assigned by the BHU Nurse Manager</p> <p>Other information:</p> <p>Qualifications: Master?s Degree in a mental health related field. LMHC LMFT or LICSW license required. Minimum 2 years post-Masters experience in mental health setting preferred.
