In this role, you will accurately code and abstract outpatient medical records for reimbursement, compliance, and statistical purposes. This position is ideal for a certified professional coder who thrives in a collaborative, fully remote environment while maintaining high standards of coding accuracy and productivity.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Review, assign, and validate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for outpatient records according to official coding guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Code outpatient medical records timely and accurately following Nuvance Health policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Initiate queries to providers when documentation is incomplete, ambiguous, or conflicting to ensure coding accuracy.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and payer-specific regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a minimum accuracy rate of 95% for ICD-10 and CPT coding.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in quality improvement, compliance reviews, and audit processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Stay current with AHIMA/AAPC coding updates, webinars, and continuing education.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with peers and leadership to improve workflow efficiency and coding accuracy.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Certification required: CPC, CPC-H, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT, or specialty coding certification.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of 2+ years of production coding experience in outpatient or multispecialty settings.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in critical care, E/M, and trauma profee coding required.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and EHR/coding software.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent attention to detail, communication, and analytical skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Must reside in one of the approved states listed above.</p> </li></ul> <p>Why Join Nuvance Health?</p> <p>At Nuvance Health, we're committed to creating a culture that supports professional growth, flexibility, and work-life balance.
