With a combined legacy of resilience, Magnera will build personal partnerships that withstand an ever-changing world.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Human Resource Generalist is critical to ensuring the day-to-day HR operations run smoothly and with efficiency. The HRG serves as the liaison of the general population and the HR department. The HRG will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including, but not limited to, hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.</p> <p>JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. </li><li>Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Manages the Applicant Tracking System (iCIMS) </li><li>Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files. </li><li>Leads pre-hire, new hire orientation and benefits onboarding. </li><li>Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. </li><li>Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. </li><li>Performs administrative support duties including but not limited to letters, documents, spreadsheets, data entry, purchase requisitions, filing, copying, etc. </li><li>Supports the compliance of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. </li><li>Serves on various HR committees and manages related communications and events. </li><li>Assists with processing of terminations. </li><li>Ability to act in a discrete manner to effectively communicate and protect confidential and sensitive information. </li><li>Manages the performance review process and helps to ensure constructive and timely performance evaluations. </li><li>Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions, Files documents into appropriate employee files, prepares correspondence as requested. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience. SHRM-CP credential preferred. </li><li>At least two years related experience required. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and customer service skills. </li><li>Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. </li><li>Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures. </li><li>Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. </li><li>Highly Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. </li></ul> <p>COMPETENCIES:</p> <p>Active Learner: Able to identify own development and learning needs. The employee must periodically lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will frequently climb up to three levels above floor level.</p> <p>Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time; dust; heat; humidity, odors. The noise level in the work environment varies and hearing protection is required in some work areas. The employee is frequently exposed to extremely high-speed machinery with open inward turning rolls, extremely hot surface areas and moving lift truck traffic.</p>
