<p>Graduate Assistant</p> <p>Bookmark this Posting Print Preview | Apply for this Job</p> <p>Position Details</p> <p>Position Information</p> <p>Position Title Graduate Assistant Description of GA Assignment GA: Clinical Practice - The department will assign you to various tasks that will require you to provide professional service to MU students, clients of a MU Clinic, or other individuals in need of professional services provided by the office. Job Description Summary</p> <p>The Violence Prevention and Response Program (VPRP) is dedicated to creating and maintaining a safe and respectful campus environment by leading comprehensive and collaborative prevention initiatives, fostering a culture of community responsibility, and offering advocacy and support services to students affected by sexual or interpersonal violence.</p> <p>VPRP is housed within The Wellness Center (2w16A, MSC), which includes our program, Wellness Programs, and Collegiate Recovery. We are looking for a student interested in assisting the Coordinator for Violence Prevention and Response in planning, hosting, and facilitating on-campus events and managing all social media platforms.</p> <p>This education-focused role entails working collaboratively with the Women's Center and Wellness Center. The student intern should be comfortable developing and facilitating in-person and virtual educational programming and should enjoy working in a student-focused team environment. This is a paid position of $11 per hour. Students are expected to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.</p> <p>Responsibilities of the Student Advocacy Graduate Assistant:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in staffing the reception desk, greeting students, answering the phone, and maintaining the filing system. </li><li>Assisting with triaging students' needs and connecting them with needed resources. </li><li>Assisting in providing presentations and activities. </li><li>Assisting in managing and maintaining the social media pages. </li><li>All other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Eligible applicants must be enrolled as full-time degree-seeking students at Marshall University. </li><li>Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and respect for others' privacy. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication and outstanding interpersonal skills. </li><li>Excellent decision-making and time-management skills. </li><li>Strong ability to work with and contribute to a team environment. </li><li>Experience using Microsoft Office programs and social media management platforms. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Students seeking degrees in Public Relations, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Communication Studies, Sociology, and other related fields are preferred. </li><li>Applicants with previous public speaking, presentation experience, or advocacy training will be given priority. </li></ul> <p>Department Violence Prevention & Response Prog - MU3021 Location MU - Marshall University Semester Fall Semester, Spring Semester Hours Per Week Full Time (20 hrs a week)</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <p>A student currently enrolled full-time as a graduate student at Marshall University.</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <p>Eligible applicants must be enrolled as full-time degree-seeking students at Marshall University.</p> <ul> <li>Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and respect for others' privacy. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication and outstanding interpersonal skills. </li><li>Excellent decision-making and time-management skills. </li><li>Strong ability to work with and contribute to a team environment. </li><li>Experience using Microsoft Office programs and social media management platforms. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <p>Students seeking degrees in Public Relations, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Communication Studies, Sociology, and other related fields are preferred.
