<p>SPEC. COURT FINANCIAL SERVICES</p> <p>GENERAL SUMMARY</p> <p>The purpose of this job is to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of all financial transactions related to court-ordered payments. This position supports court operations by managing billing, collections, restitution, and vendor disbursements. The specialist is a key liaison between the court, the public, and vendors, ensuring timely financial processing and excellent customer service.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Review court cases for unpaid fines, fees, and restitution; issue billing statements; establish and monitor payment plans; initiate garnishments as needed. </li><li>Collect, verify, and reconcile daily cash tills from clerks; identify and correct discrepancies; prepare deposits. </li><li>Respond to inquiries from defendants, victims, attorneys, and vendors; explain court financial procedures and resolve concerns. </li><li>Assist in preparing documentation for enforcement actions, including show cause hearings and bench warrants. </li><li>Review and process vendor invoices and court-related disbursements, ensuring compliance with policies. </li><li>Maintain organized and accurate electronic records for all financial transactions and case files. </li><li>Support internal audits, financial reporting, and special projects; provide backup during staff absences. </li><li>Performs related work as required. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>An accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or a related field </li><li>1 to 3 years of related work experience identifying discrepancies, errors, or irregularities in financial records, and taking the necessary steps to resolve them, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded. Ability to make independent decisions and excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities </li></ul> <p>Required Licenses or Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Valid Michigan Driver's License </li><li>Reliable transportation </li></ul> <p>VETERANS are encouraged to apply.
