<p>Position Summary:</p> <p>This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of plastic injection molds, weld fixtures, and continual improvement efforts to maximize production efficiency.</p> <p>Position Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Schedule die maintenance 5% </li><li>Complete general mold and weld fixture maintenance: 25% </li><li>Recommend Die Improvements: 5% </li><li>Machine and Auxiliary Equipment Functions and Checks of Such Equipment: 3% </li><li>Repair broken molds and flash in house when possible: 25% </li><li>Trouble Shoot dies issues: 10% </li><li>Work with Engineers on new model development through die trials: 5% </li><li>Complete Documentation and Reports: 5% </li><li>Train mfg technical associates on die function & optimal condition: 10% </li><li>Other Duties as Assigned: 5% </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED </li><li>Basic experience in computer systems and spreadsheets necessary to perform job duties </li><li>Technical training or a qualified Tool & Die experience </li><li>2 years plastic injection mold maintenance, repair experience in a high volume plastic injection molding facility </li><li>Ability to tig weld, ability to operate tool room equipment such as Bridgeport, lathe, surface grinder and hands tools such as grinders, drills </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):</p> <ul> <li>Journeyman card or equivalent amount of experience </li><li>3 years of plastic injection mold repair and maintenance experience </li><li>Intermediate experience in computer systems and spreadsheets necessary to perform job duties </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Understand injection molding hot runner systems, can repair and troubleshoot </li><li>Proven ability to make sound decisions, exercise good judgement and be highly motivated in a self-directed work environment </li><li>Excellent analytical and problem solving skills </li><li>Technical competence </li><li>Crane operation </li><li>Ability to clearly communicate through written and verbal skills with people outside the department / suppliers </li><li>Analyze test results and provide feedback and interpretation to production management or staff. </li><li>Create and implement inspection testing criteria or procedures. </li><li>Evaluate and implement integrated process & documentation. </li><li>Supports higher level engineers with integration of numerous processes and/or products. </li><li>Coordinate with suppliers for accurate part manufacturing and delivery deadlines. </li><li>Lead role in leading and managing medium size projects from concept through implementation for mold improvements (design changes for Quality of parts) </li><li>Control Spare parts for Molds and Weld fixtures </li></ul> <p>Software:</p> <ul> <li>Windows, Word, Excel </li></ul> <p>Essential Job Functions-Physcial and/or Mental Restrictions</p> <ul> <li>Standing, walking and bending for the duraction of the work day </li><li>Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds </li><li>Manual dexterity </li></ul> <p>Work Environment - Travel, Noise, Smells, Quiet, Indoors or Outdoors, etc.</p> <ul> <li>Factory setting with noise </li></ul> <p>Equipment/Tools Used</p> <ul> <li>Related job function tools (ie: welder, machine tools, hand/power tools, etc) </li><li>Personal computer </li></ul>
