Employees in this position develop expertise in all job functions including scheduling, dispatching, SPED coordination, 3rd Party arrangement, and field trip scheduling. Develops and promotes good community relations among various district and community clientele.</p> <p>Clean motor vehicle record required.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:</p> <ul> <li>Work could include heat, snow, rain, and other weather related conditions </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Occasional lifting five (5) to fifty (50) pounds </li><li>Frequent sitting and standing </li><li>Occasional bending, squatting, or standing </li></ul> <p>Position Specific Information (if Applicable):</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Utilize resources from other work units.</p> <p>Use computer routing programs to develop, maintain, evaluate, establish, schedule bus routes/stops and activity trips;for special needs and general education students.</p> <p>Maintain route descriptions and serve as a liaison to the community to provide positive customer service regarding bus routes and bus stops.</p> <p>Coordinate with parents and the Special Needs Department regarding the transportation needs of special needs students.</p> <p>Notify site administrators and area managers of any student discipline and route problems. Collaborate with area managers to develop strategies of route improvement.</p> <p>Develop and promote good community relations among the Transportation Department, students' parents, the Special Needs Department and the school.</p> <p>Work closely with Bus Drivers and other transportation personnel in maintenance of the route schedules.</p> <p>Assist with the development of various projects and special events.</p> <p>Must be able to work any shift, at any of the transportation locations.</p> <p>Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.</p> <p>Required to communicate, coordinate, use interpersonal skills, analyze, evaluate and compile information; must be able to function well under various stressful circumstances.</p> <p>Provide operational support within the transportation departments.</p> <p>Responsible for information acquisition and distribution via multiple media sources. Responsible for developing and maintaining bus routes and schedules for the transportation of special needs and/or general education students within the District.</p> <p>Must maintain the highest level of safety and efficiency for all students.</p> <p>Responsible for dispatching of regular and special education bus drivers and transportation educational assistants; coordinating the assignments of regularly scheduled routes, special events, field trips; monitoring bus drivers' traffic and locations.</p> <p>Provide scheduling support for route accuracy and routing efficiencies and work directly with the area leadership and schools for field trips, athletics or community outings.</p> <p>Work under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others.</p> <p>Respond and/or route incoming phone calls, two way radio transmissions and emails. Dispatch district vehicles, assign bus drivers and TEA's, and provide a communication link between district bus drivers, TEA's, management and community.</p> <p>Assure all routes are filled as assigned and bus drivers & TEAs are provided with timely instructions.</p> <p>Communicate with maintenance personnel on vehicle availability; schedule transport of assets to and from maintenance, and coordinate contingencies.</p> <p>Monitor bus drivers and TEAs trip status, adjust and reassign as necessary to ensure on-time performance.</p> <p>Acquire and distribute information on all daily activities using all available technology formats.</p> <p>Participate in meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. as required for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.</p> <p>Serve as a resource to administrators, staff and the community.</p> <p>Certifications:</p> <p>First Aid - Colorado CPR Assoc, May be required to obtain Small Vehicle Certification if needed - as applicable</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>High School or Equivalent (Required)</p> <p>Skills:</p> <p>Ability to create and present materials to large audiences., Basic math skills, including fractions, percentages, and/or ratios, Collaborative team player, Effective oral and written communication skills, Maintains a generally positive attitude, Observes all District policies and procedures, Operating heavy and light duty vehicles, Preparing and maintaining accurate records, Strong organizational and time management skills, Verbal and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Primary Location:</p> <p>West Building F - Transportation West</p> <p>One Year Only (Yes or No):</p> <p>No</p> <p>Scheduled Hours Per Week:</p> <p>40</p> <p>FTE:</p> <p>1.00</p> <p>Approx Scheduled Days Per Year:</p> <p>260 Work Days</p> <ul> <li>(260 days indicates a year-round position.
