If you are a passionate educator who values positive relationships and believes in the importance of academics, athletics, and the arts, we encourage you to apply for this position to become a part of our Southwest Licking Schools family.</p> <p>Position: Educational Aide - In-School Suspension Monitor</p> <p>Location: Watkins Memorial High School, Watkins Middle School and Watkins Intermediate School</p> <p>Reports to: Assigned administrator/supervisor</p> <p>Salary: Based on the negotiated agreement</p> <p>Job Goal: To see that students who are assigned in-school suspensions are kept busy with work that is furnished by teachers.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university or; </li><li>Have obtained at least an associate's degree or completed two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education; or </li><li>Met a rigorous standard of quality with the ability to assist in the instruction of all academic subject areas </li><li>Valid teaching or ESEA qualified Para-Professional license from the State of Ohio; or </li><li>Educational Aide Permit from the State Board of Education of Ohio </li><li>High school graduate </li><li>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. </li></ul> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>To act as liaison between student and teacher. </li><li>Maintain daily records pertaining to those students in suspension. </li><li>Prepare a monthly report. </li><li>Be responsible for all students assigned to in-school suspension, insuring that all in-school suspension rules are followed. </li><li>Insure that assignments for students are collected from teachers and that those students complete provided assignments. </li><li>Provide academic assistance to students as needed. </li><li>Communicate with parents of students assigned to in-school suspension where such communication is deemed desirable. </li><li>Act as liaison with guidance counselor, school psychologists, and other agencies and students assigned to in-school suspension where situation indicates the need for special services. </li><li>Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Building Administration. </li><li>The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District. </li></ul> <p>Evaluation:</p> <ul> <li>Performance of these responsibilities will be evaluated annually by the Building Administration. </li></ul> <p>The Southwest Licking Local School District Board of Education is an equal opportunity employer offering employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, or disability.
