<p>Systems Integration & Development (SID) is an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in Rockville, MD seeking a Test Automation Engineer. This is a full-time and hybrid position.</p> <p>Role & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for APIs, backend services, and user-facing applications, including tools that support data-driven and scientific operations. </li><li>Build and enhance scalable test automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar. </li><li>Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria for high-performance, cloud-native applications. </li><li>Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery of reliable software in multi-cloud environments. </li><li>Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, and work with development teams to resolve issues efficiently. </li><li>Ensure comprehensive test coverage across unit, integration, regression, and end-to-end tests. </li><li>Contribute to a quality-first mindset by advocating best practices in test automation and software reliability. </li><li>Maintain clear, version-controlled documentation of test strategies, frameworks, and outcomes. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. </li><li>3+ years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on test automation. </li><li>Proficiency in a programming language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#. </li><li>Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, or Robot Framework. </li><li>Experience with API testing frameworks (e.g., Postman, Rest Assured). </li><li>Familiarity with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions). </li><li>Strong understanding of Agile software development and the software testing lifecycle. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience testing data pipelines, scientific modeling software, or visualization tools. </li><li>Exposure to performance or load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling). </li><li>Experience testing in cloud-based environments or using cloud-based test platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs). </li><li>Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and virtualization technologies. </li><li>ISTQB or equivalent software testing certification. </li></ul> <p>Systems Integration & Development (SID) offers a unique, stimulating and challenging environment that fosters individual growth and rewards performance.
