<p>Description</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Health Care Admissions Coordinator works with medical, nursing and accounting staff to admit residents to Health Care by maintaining admitting guidelines, marketing programs, obtaining applicant information, screening applicants and completing the admissions process. Works collaboratively to support the Mission and Values of SCBMA.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in implementation of the sales and marketing for telephone sales to generate prospective residents to groups in the area such as insurance or medical professionals, senior organizations, special interest groups, hospital discharge planners or other community contacts. </li><li>Develop and maintain medical and senior focused relationships and advise them of bed availability or new products and services. </li><li>Implement or assist in special events or presentations targeted at education and promotion of our health care and rehabilitation abilities </li><li>Respond appropriately and timely to inquiry calls from hospitals, families, or others. Share only established marketing materials that describe our services and accomplishments and conduct tours as needed. </li><li>Obtain required information for staff review, coordinate and participate in determination of admission acceptance </li><li>Daily monitor and follow up on all active inquiries, using the prospect database system as directed </li><li>Responsible for admission denial protocol </li><li>Coordinate admission process with discharging facility and resident and/or family or responsible party. Inform appropriate staff of upcoming admissions. </li><li>Complete appropriate admission documents and obtain required signatures prior to or on date of admission. </li><li>Provide completed admission file to Social Services and Business Office manager as stated in policies and procedures </li><li>Maintain a working knowledge of federal and state regulations, as related to the position, reimbursement (Medicare and Medicaid and commercial) </li><li>Ensure compliance with all regulations from DHEC, Fire and Safety, OSHA, Labor Laws, etc and adhere to HIPAA confidentiality standards and Resident's Rights. </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):</p> <ul> <li>Associate or Bachelor's degree in a business administration, health information technology or related field preferred. </li><li>Valid SC driver's license and 3 year clean driving record </li><li>Ability to make direct sales calls, facilitate and make public presentations </li><li>Understanding of reimbursement programs including Medicare, Medicaid, VA as well as other legal policies and resident rights </li><li>Understanding of physical and psychological effects of the aging process and ability to be respectful and tactful with potential clients, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and general public. </li><li>Detail oriented </li><li>Ability to make decisions, follow instructions and accept constructive feedback </li><li>Strong communication skills </li><li>Computer skills including Microsoft Office, contact or admissions database system </li><li>Committed to 100% customer satisfaction </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands and Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Exposure to biological agents such as viruses and other microbes </li><li>Occasional work during off hours including weekends, nights or holidays </li></ul>
