<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Nursing Department invites applications to teach in OCC's Nursing Workforce programs including Certified Nurses Aide and Home Health Aide.</p> <p>Major responsibilities include teaching clinical instruction and evaluation, lab instruction and evaluation; student mentoring and ensuring strengthening of knowledge, skills and competencies</p> <p>The successful candidate will:</p> <ul> <li>Use appropriate technology to deliver and enhance learning. </li><li>Be innovative in the presentation of hands-on learning activities that achieve learning outcomes. </li><li>Assess learning outcomes and provide timely feedback. </li><li>Be responsive to student questions and available for student support. </li><li>Demonstrate insight and encouragement in working with diverse student populations, especially students traditionally underrepresented in higher education. </li><li>Be accountable to meet the needs of the Department and the College, including timely submission of grades and other required materials. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Workforce position in program (CNA or HHA): </li><li>Current NYS RN registration and CPR certification. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and another language will be considered. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Rate of pay is $45.00/hour. This position is not eligible for benefits. This position will begin June 1, 2026.</p> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <ul> <li> <p>To be considered, please submit a resume, cover letter, including availability to teach, and attachment that will verify at least one of the following at time of application:</p> </li><li> <p>Certification to teach Nurse Aide or Practical Nursing or</p> </li><li> <p>One year of experience teaching nurse aides in a residential health care facility or</p> </li><li> <p>One year of experience teaching nursing or nursing related programs to adults in an academic setting approved by the Commissioner of Education or</p> </li><li> <p>Completion of the State approved professionally recognized course in teaching adult learners or</p> </li><li> <p>Documentation is attached that verifies one year of experience caring for the elderly and/or chronically ill.</p> </li><li> <p>The three (3) references listed on the application must be professional references, two of which must be current or former supervisors.
