<p>Overview</p> <p>Job Purpose</p> <p>The Junior Data Center Technician is responsible for ensuring all activities carried out in the Data Center & Access Centers conform to Data Center Procedures and industry best practice.</p> <p>The Junior Data Center Technician performs routine data center operations work with a focus on learning and administering current data center procedures.</p> <p>The Junior Data Center Technician will carry out QA in Data Center Halls and Access Centers; perform IT equipment review with daily visual Inspections; provide escorted access for vendors and COLO customers; support storage tape removal and pick up, and control data center stock. In all cases the Junior Data Center Technician will ensure that appropriate tasks follow the Change Control rules and support the task as documented by the requester.</p> <p>The role will also be requiring assisting Data Center Engineers to gather information for a work order.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Support storage tape removal and pick up </li><li>Provide escorted access for vendors and COLO customers </li><li>Carry out daily checks to ensure security and access policies are being adhered to and Data Center cleanliness is maintained. </li><li>Carry out QA in Data Center Halls and access centers. </li><li>Control Data Center stocks (copper/fibers patch cables, fiber cleaning accessories, cables labels, etc.) and report appropriately </li></ul> <p>Knowledge and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Basic computer hardware knowledge </li><li>0-1+ years' experience of working in Data Center environments </li><li>Good Understanding of Microsoft Office </li><li>Ability to follow instructions </li><li>Demonstrate ability to perform in a high paced work environment, good problem solving techniques, communicating issues and results to co-workers and escalating to immediate management </li><li>Ability to work well with others in a team environment as a member of a self-managed work team, in rotational assignments, or as a member of a project team </li><li>Demonstrates a willingness to learn </li><li>Effective written and verbal communication at all levels </li></ul> <p>Illinois Base Salary Range</p> <p>The expected base salary for this role, if located in Illinois, is between $52,000 - $68,000 USD. ?The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange's incentive compensation.? While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual.
