<p>Under general supervision, Operations Assistants perform a variety of duties involved in the planning, organization, and instruction of the Gymnastics program.  In addition, they provide general information and assistance to staff and the public.</p> <ul> <li>This positions exercises no supervision of other staff, but may supervise participants in group activities.. </li><li>Operations Assistants report to the Recreation Programs Supervisor in charge of the program assignment. In the absence of the Recreation Programs Supervisor, supervision may be provided by the Recreation Assistant or Instructor of the assigned program </li></ul> <p>The following functions & duties are typical for this position.  Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address City needs and changing business practices.</p> <p>Perform equipment/facility setup, as well as post activity cleanup.</p> <p>Coordinate/oversee recreation activities.</p> <p>Interact with patrons and other staff.</p> <p>Perform other related job duties as assigned.</p> <p>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES</p> <p>Ability to: </p> <ul> <li>Learn equipment/facility setup activities and appropriate recreational activities.  </li><li>Properly maintain assigned areas. </li><li>Follow oral and written instructions. </li><li>Perform assigned tasks properly and efficiently. </li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public. </li><li>Provide own transportation to and from work site. </li><li>Troubleshoot and operate electrical equipment.  </li><li>Handle any crisis situation and work under outside pressure. </li><li>Communicate on a daily basis, in responding to questions or complaints, and enforcing rules. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Education, Experience & Training Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Any combination of education, training, and experience that would provide necessary public contact skills.  </li></ul> <p>Age Requirement:</p> <ul> <li>Must be 15 years of age or older. </li></ul> <p>License/Certification:</p> <ul> <li>Valid driver's license. </li><li>Current First Aid and CPR certifications.  </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment:</p> <p>Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, twist, and grasp; work with hands above shoulder height with up to 40 lbs.; work with arms extended at shoulder height with up to 20 lbs.; lift or carry 50 lbs. or less and push and/or pull heavy weights (over 75 lbs) on a regular basis; and exposure to hot, cold, and outdoors.</p> <p> </p> <p>Applicants who are offered employment are required to pass a background investigation (including DCI fingerprint check), job-related physical exam, drug screening test and motor vehicle record check.</p> <p>The City of Green River is an EEO/ADA employer and a smoke-free workplace per City ordinance.</p>
