<p>The Lead Cabling Technician is the on-site technical lead responsible for safe, high-quality installation of structured cabling systems. This role leads small site teams, assigns daily tasks, ensures work meets standards, and drives projects to completion on schedule. The Lead also coaches and develops technicians and laborers.</p> <p>Salary Range: 77k-83,200/ Annual</p> <p>Apply</p> <p>view details</p> <p>Essential Job Functions, Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Maintain safety and security standards and follow established installation procedures. </li><li>Serve as a subject matter expert for installing fiber and copper cabling between equipment. </li><li>Install, route, and secure structured cabling systems (Cat5e/Cat6, fiber, coax, and other low-voltage cabling). </li><li>Terminate, label, patch, and test cables according to standards and project specifications. </li><li>Build and maintain pathways (ladder rack, J-hooks, conduit, raceway) and keep work areas organized. </li><li>Troubleshoot cabling issues using appropriate testing tools to ensure signal integrity and performance. </li><li>Read and interpret floor plans, riser diagrams, and cabling schematics. </li><li>Document work accurately for quality control, reporting, and closeout. </li><li>Lead site teams, assign tasks, train new team members, and provide constructive feedback. </li><li>Act as a key point of contact across departments and provide direction to small teams and vendors. </li></ul> <p>Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Required: 4+ years of structured cabling or related field installation experience; prior crew leadership strongly preferred </li><li>Required: reliable transportation; ability to travel between sites </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements & Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>Technical aptitude with strong analytical and problem-solving skills </li><li>Clear written and verbal communication </li><li>Ability to work independently and lead teams </li><li>Quick decision-making and effective prioritization skills </li></ul>
