<p>Civil Department Manager, PE</p> <p>Interested in this role? Apply directly today to Chaney Cornell at chcornell@actalentservices. com for immediate consideration</p> <p>interviews being conducted this week</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We are seeking a talented Civil Engineer PE to join our team as a department manager within a full-service A/E Firm - encompassing Architectural, Structural, MEP, and Civil divisions. As part of the Civil Team, the successful candidate must bring basic concepts and ideas to fruition with minimal supervision, and excel in a collaborative, team-based environment. Responsibilities include site observation, field documentation, and analysis of existing sites.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Manage multi-discipline site/civil projects encompassing all site utilities including sanitary, potable water, stormwater, as well as grading and other site engineering aspects from planning and procurement through start-up and construction. </li><li>Complete stormwater and sanitary sewer calculations for sites, including potential lift stations. </li><li>Develop full plans and specifications in SpecLink format for all site parameters. </li><li>Research and coordinate with respective jurisdictions regarding regulations for stormwater, sanitary, electrical, and gas services to the site. </li><li>Prepare and oversee associated permit applications such as earth disturbance permits, land development, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plans, Stormwater Management Plans, grading plans, design of channels, culverts, infiltration, detention, and/or retention structures. </li><li>Design temporary and permanent access roads and develop construction plans. </li><li>Supervise the preparation of proposals, budgets, schedules, calculations, specifications, and reports, providing technical training and guidance to less experienced staff. </li><li>Review proposed contracts to determine significant parameters, time schedules, milestones, and define major task areas. </li><li>Resolve problems and coordinate the final turnover of the project to the client. </li><li>Ensure contractual commitments are met and work is performed according to expectations. </li><li>Control and review all project forecasts, schedules, cost estimates, and reports, ensuring quality control over the project. </li><li>Monitor fees and budgets, reporting problems to appropriate Department and Division Managers. </li><li>Prepare or direct the preparation of progress and special reports for staff and clients. </li><li>Obtain client acceptance of work, coordinate completion of final project paperwork. </li><li>Actively participate in civic and professional activities, societies, and organizations. </li><li>Ensure all work is performed safely and responsibly in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan. </li><li>Represent the company positively and uphold its core values. </li><li>Meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects effectively. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field. </li><li>7 or more years' experience in site/civil design. </li><li>Active PE License in the state of Indiana. </li><li>Construction document preparation and hydraulic modeling experience. </li><li>Proficiency with software such as HydroCAD and WinSLAMM. </li><li>Strong technical writing skills. </li><li>Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites, complying with all safety codes. </li><li>Previous leadership experience in stormwater, drainage, grading, and project management. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Previous leadership experience is highly valued. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The position is based in our office in Fort Wayne, IN, with the option to work from our Oshkosh, WI office. The Civil Team is known for its close-knit, supportive environment, and provides the opportunity to manage a department.
