<p>Candidates must have an active Secret clearance and verify, before applying, that you meet the minimum requirements of the position.</p> <p>Senior Logistician</p> <p>Location: APG, MD</p> <p>Clearance Level: Secret</p> <p>Salary: Commensurate with Education/Experience</p> <p>Travel: This position may require occasional travel to support program activities and engagements.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Senior Logistician is responsible for overseeing the logistical aspects of product life cycles within the Department of Defense (DOD) environment. This role involves managing logistics programs, resolving logistical issues, and ensuring the efficient provisioning and support of military products and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations and supply chain management, with a proven track record in logistics within high-stakes environments.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Logistical Management:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee the coordination and provisioning of samples to minimize obsolescence. </li><li>Manage the logistical aspects of product life cycles, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with DOD requirements. </li></ul> <p>Program Development:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement logistics program activities, including Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), technical documentation, Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) strategies, and provisioning plans. </li><li>Compile and analyze data on standardization and interchangeability of parts to expedite logistics processes. </li></ul> <p>Cost Analysis and Component Studies:</p> <ul> <li>Perform system life-cycle cost analysis to optimize resource allocation and budget management. </li><li>Develop comprehensive component studies to support logistics decision-making. </li></ul> <p>Logistics Support Activities:</p> <ul> <li>Plan, organize, and execute logistics support activities, including: </li></ul> <p>Maintenance planning Repair analysis Recommendations for test equipment</p> <p>Continuous Improvement:</p> <ul> <li>Stay informed of advancements in logistics technology and government policies. </li><li>Implement best practices to enhance logistics processes and improve operational efficiency. </li></ul> <p>Leadership and Mentorship:</p> <ul> <li>Work independently on high-visibility and mission-critical aspects of logistics programs. </li><li>Oversee and mentor less senior staff, ensuring high-quality execution of logistics activities. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Education: Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Certified Logistics Professional (CLP) Certification is required. </li><li>Experience: </li><li>Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Logistician within the DOD environment. </li><li>6 additional years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement. </li><li>Academic credit: 1 academic year at an accredited college or university in a related program may count as 1 year of experience. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>In-depth knowledge of logistics principles, practices, and technologies. </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Proven leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring staff. </li></ul> <p>JANUS strives to provide opportunities for career growth through training and development.
