<p>Job Description</p> <p>How does it feel to work on a team driven to make a big impact? Empowering.</p> <p>The BAE Systems team in Kingsport, TN is seeking a Lab Manager. In this role as a Lab Manager, you will be charged with the following:</p> <ul> <li>Directly manage the Quality Control Supervisors, Laboratory Technicians and Analytical Chemists. </li><li>Ensure adequate training for the entire quality control staff. </li><li>Manage all disciplinary actions within the Quality Control staff. </li><li>Oversee testing and inspection of raw materials, packaging components, intermediates and final products to ensure compliance with applicable specifications. </li><li>Generate Engineering Change Proposals or Request for Variances as needed when discrepancies are identified. </li><li>Ensure all quality control and analytical procedures are up to date and being adhered to by staff. </li><li>Audit quality control procedures to ensure compliance. </li><li>Interact with internal and external customers regarding quality control processes. </li><li>Write and/or approve Analytical Standard Methods (ASMs). </li><li>Review raw material purchase orders to ensure accuracy prior to issuance to suppliers. </li><li>Perform investigations and complete corrective actions for quality control failures. </li><li>Ensure compliance of staff with all safety and environmental regulations. </li></ul> <p>Required Education, Experience, & Skills</p> <ul> <li>Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and 8 years related work experience, or the overall equivalent. </li><li>Working knowledge in quality control/laboratory processes, procedures, and requirements. </li><li>Experience in chemical and/or explosives manufacturing. </li><li>Experience performing root cause analysis investigations. </li><li>Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. </li><li>Highly effective communication written and verbal skills. </li><li>Leadership experience particularly in managing a team. </li><li>Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with customers. </li><li>Proven computer literacy in MS Office and industry-related software applications. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience managing an analytical laboratory for chemical or explosive manufacturing. </li><li>Ability to communicate information and data via presentations. </li><li>Masters Degree in technical or management discipline. </li><li>One of the following: ASQ Certification as a Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Quality Manager, Six Sigma Greenbelt, Six Sigma Blackbelt, company-sponsored Quality Certification, or demonstration of skills through past performance. </li><li>High proficiency in Quality tools and principles. </li><li>DoD industry experience. </li></ul> <p>Pay Information</p> <p>Full-Time Salary Range: $95252 - $161928</p> <p>Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
