<p>The University of Iowa Community Clinics is seeking a patient centered 60% Staff Nurse (24 hours a week) to work in our UICC North Dodge Neurology Clinic. Our Neurology Clinic provides consultation services, evaluations, diagnosis, and treatments for adult patients with a broad spectrum of disorders affecting the nervous system. Our general neurologists are committed to providing specialized care with a generalist perspective, ensuring an innovative, effective, and personalized approach, and diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of neurological conditions. Patients with any neurologic problem, uncertain about their neurological condition, experiencing neurological symptoms, or needing a neurological evaluation may receive care in the general neurology outpatient clinic.</p> <p>The staff nurse within the Neurology Clinic is responsible for assessing a wide variety of adult neurology patients and ensuring patient care standards are met. This position is part of a dynamic environment, rich with opportunities for learning and growth. We utilize a multidisciplinary approach to patient care that encourages teamwork between multiple disciplinary teams to provide the most comprehensive care to our patients. Documents/reports interventions and patient/family response. </li><li>Collaborates and integrates contributions of patients and families into multidisciplinary patient care plan. </li><li>Develops, coordinates and implements transfer/discharge planning throughout episode of care. </li><li>Implements nursing interventions according to department, division, and/or unit policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
