<p>At the present time, a vacancy for a full-time Head Cook exists within the Student Services Division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. To perform all aspects of food preparations, sanitation within assigned County Cup. Provide good customer service to customers, students, job trainers, staff, and work as a team player.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Obtain and maintain Food Handlers certification. </li><li>Participate in the preparation and serving of the appropriate quantity and high-quality food. Maintain a high degree of sanitation in cleaning of all equipment; utensils and associated areas to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions are met. </li><li>Follow all Chester County Health Department regulations in effort to stay compliant with yearly health inspections. </li><li>Operate a cash register or point of sale (P.O.S.) computerized screen with accuracy as per program guidelines and serve each customer in a pleasant manner. </li><li>Be familiar with equipment and be knowledgeable about its usage and proper care and ensure that all equipment is in safe working condition. Notify the appropriate authority when repairs are needed, </li><li>Follow proper procedures for receiving and storing all food and supplies. </li><li>Create daily menu that best serves assigned County Cup. </li><li>Assist and support with catering activities as directed. </li><li>Assist with inventory and ordering as directed of food and non-food when needed. </li><li>Assist the job trainers in all student related functions. </li><li>Report to Vocational Specialist as needed for specific student matters. </li><li>Train and support new job trainers, students and County Cup staff as needed. </li><li>Be point of contact in the absence of the Project Manager. </li><li>Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager. </li><li>Maintains student worker time sheets and submit to Discover Staff Hours </li><li>Plans out daily task schedules for food service staff and student volunteers/workers assigned to the location </li></ul> <p>A. Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or GED required </li><li>Previous food service experience required </li><li>Attention to detail </li><li>Knowledge in providing professional customer service </li><li>Operation of a cash register or point of sale system </li></ul> <p>B. Professional or Other Required Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Food Managers Certification from the Chester County Health Department or other Nationally Accredited Food Protection Certificate programs. </li><li>Must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver\'s License and annual motor vehicle record check in accordance to CCIU policy to drive CCIU vehicles as requested. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires 0-1 hours of driving a van at a time, 0-2 hours per day. </li><li>The employee is frequently required to talk and listen. </li><li>The position requires the employee to frequently repeat the same hand, arm or finger motion many times. </li><li>The position requires the employee to frequently use hand strength to grasp utensils. </li><li>The position requires the employee to lift and or move approximately the following: </li></ul> <ol> <li>Between 25 to 35 lbs; consistently on a daily basis and lift up to 45 Lbs. occasionally </li></ol> <p>Work Environment:</p> <p>The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
