<p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Staff Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations within a fast-paced printing manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for managing Accounts Payable, overseeing customer collections, performing balance sheet reconciliations, preparing journal entries, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and familiar with the operational flow of a manufacturing business.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Accounts Payable (AP) Management</p> <ul> <li>Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding, approval, and timely payment. </li><li>Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies. </li><li>Monitor aging reports and maintain accurate AP records. </li><li>Ensure compliance with company purchasing and expense policies. </li></ul> <p>Accounts Receivable / Collections</p> <ul> <li>Monitor customer accounts and follow up on past-due balances. </li><li>Post customer payments and apply cash accurately to invoices. </li><li>Communicate effectively with internal sales and customer service teams regarding billing or credit issues. </li><li>Prepare and distribute aging reports and collection status updates. </li></ul> <p>General Ledger & Reconciliations</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and post recurring and adjusting journal entries. </li><li>Reconcile key balance sheet accounts monthly (e.g., cash, AP, AR, prepaid expenses, and accruals). </li><li>Assist in maintaining accuracy between sub-ledgers and the general ledger. </li><li>Support month-end and year-end closing activities. </li></ul> <p>Process Improvement & Team Support</p> <ul> <li>Recommend and help implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy. </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and production, to ensure financial data integrity. </li><li>Maintain compliance with internal controls and company policies. </li><li>-- </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. </li><li>2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or printing environment. </li><li>Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles. </li><li>Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (AS400 and JDE preferred but not required) and Microsoft Excel. </li><li>Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>-- </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in the printing or packaging manufacturing industry. </li><li>Knowledge of environmental reporting or sustainability metrics is a plus. </li><li>-- </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Office environment within a manufacturing facility. </li><li>Occasional interaction with production and operations staff. </li><li>Standard business hours with occasional overtime during month-end close periods. </li></ul> <p>Job Type: Full-time</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>401(k) matching </li><li>Dental insurance </li><li>Life insurance </li><li>Paid time off </li><li>Vision insurance </li></ul> <p>Work Location: In person</p>
