<p>Job Description-Technology Director</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Technology Director is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all technology initiatives within the school district. This role ensures the effective use of technology to enhance teaching, learning, and administrative operations while maintaining the security and efficiency of the district's IT infrastructure.</p> <p>Terms of Employment: 260 days</p> <p>Reports To: Superintendent</p> <p>Start date: July 1, 2025</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement a district-wide technology vision aligned with educational goals. </li><li>Oversee the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of hardware, software, and network systems. </li><li>Manage and support all technology-related systems, including student information systems, learning management systems, and administrative databases. </li><li>Ensure the security and integrity of district data, networks, and technology assets. </li><li>Provide leadership in integrating technology into instructional practices. </li><li>Develop and implement policies for acceptable technology use and cybersecurity. </li><li>Oversee and support professional development for teachers and staff in effective technology use. </li><li>Manage the technology budget and identify cost-effective solutions for district needs. </li><li>Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations related to technology and data privacy. </li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing support to faculty, staff, and students. </li><li>Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to district technology infrastructure. </li><li>Collaborate with stakeholders, including administrators, teachers, students, and parents, to ensure technology meets educational and operational needs. </li><li>Supervise and support IT staff and technology support personnel. </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or related field (Master's preferred). </li><li>Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT management, preferably in an educational setting. </li><li>Experience with network administration, cybersecurity, and instructional technology. </li></ul> <p>Skills & Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Strong leadership and project management skills. </li><li>Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently. </li><li>Knowledge of current educational technology trends and best practices. </li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills. </li><li>Ability to train and support educators in the use of technology. </li><li>Experience with budgeting and strategic planning. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment & Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Primarily office-based with some travel to school sites. </li><li>Ability to lift and transport technology equipment as needed. </li><li>Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for system updates and troubleshooting. </li><li>Regular attendance at board meetings. </li><li>Ability to be on call outside of regular business hours. </li></ul> <p>Salary: Commensurate with experience.</p> <p>Health Insurance</p> <p>Dental Insurance</p> <p>Vision Insurance</p> <p>Life Insurance</p> <p>Paid Days Off</p> <p>Retirement</p>
