This role promotes continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and develops employee skills through structured training and coaching. The position also identifies and plans training initiatives to help team members expand their skills and level of responsibility.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>The following duties represent the primary responsibilities of this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties, and additional responsibilities may be assigned as business needs require.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the production process, including the ability to read and interpret production orders and routings.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead and communicate a structured departmental development plan focused on key performance areas such as efficiency, waste reduction, downtime, and material consumption. Establish and maintain departmental goals, systems, and performance standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop, update, and communicate procedures and processes that enhance employee safety, product quality, and manufacturing efficiency through continuous improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Respond effectively to production and quality issues by initiating corrective actions and implementing process or production improvements.</p> </li><li> <p>Drive cost reduction initiatives within the department while maintaining safety and quality standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Manager to support the preventive maintenance (PM) program and prioritize maintenance issues requiring attention.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate clearly and effectively with employees, Shift Managers, and Supervisors through reports and written communications related to production results, quality issues, and departmental goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with interviewing, selection, onboarding, and training of new employees. Evaluate employee performance to ensure expectations and goals are being met.</p> </li><li> <p>Coach, mentor, and counsel employees as needed to support performance improvement and professional development.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage and maintain inventory levels for work-in-process materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in corrugated packaging methodologies, equipment, and technology.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote a strong safety culture within the department and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Understand and follow Crisis Management procedures and respond appropriately in emergency situations.</p> </li><li> <p>Review and approve daily timesheets and production reports for each shift.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and business objectives.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Competencies</p> <ul> <li> <p>Strong oral and written communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Proven leadership and team management ability</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to lead effective team and individual meetings</p> </li><li> <p>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to interact professionally with customers and vendors</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of job cost analysis</p> </li><li> <p>Technical knowledge of corrugated manufacturing processes and equipment</p> </li></ul> <p>Education, Experience, and Technical Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or GED required</p> </li><li> <p>Technical training or college education preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Prior corrugator operating experience required</p> </li><li> <p>Business or operations background preferred</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to move freely throughout the manufacturing plant </li></ul> <p>Two companies, one vision.</p> <p>Menasha Corporation consists of two companies that are leading the way to a sustainable future with packaging and supply chain solutions.
