<p>Salary Grade</p> <p>Case Western Reserve University is committed to providing a transparent estimate of the salary range available for this position at the time of its posting. The salary range is between $56,395 and $71,340, depending on qualifications, experience, department budgets, and industry data.</p> <p>Employees receive more than just a paycheck. University employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes excellent healthcare, retirement plans, tuition assistance, paid time off, and a winter recess.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>POSITION OBJECTIVE</p> <p>The Marketing Project Manager, Development and Alumni Communications, plays a pivotal role in enhancing Case Western Reserve University's reputation as a leading national research university by expertly coordinating project planning and execution within University Marketing and Communications and University Relations and Development. Acting as a key liaison for fundraising and alumni engagement materials and campaigns, the marketing project manager bridges communication between development/alumni stakeholders, marketing and communications collaborators, graphic designers, and external vendors. They are responsible for defining project scope, establishing timelines, setting benchmarks, and ensuring transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle. A proactive problem solver, the marketing project manager excels in gathering detailed information at the project's outset, ensuring that goals are clearly defined and aligned with stakeholder expectations. They effectively distill this information, assess project needs, and strategically mobilize resources to achieve timely and successful project completion. Exceptional customer service, particularly in a marketing context, is essential. The marketing project manager will collaborate closely with the development and alumni communications team, production manager, creative directors, and art directors to ensure that project teams operate smoothly and deliver high-quality results.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Manage projects. Monitor and manage workflow. Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle of all development and alumni communications projects, from intake to final delivery, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks. Partner with the production manager, creative director, other project managers, and graphic designers to develop detailed project plans for a wide range of fundraising and alumni materials and resolve any production challenges. Maintain consistent, open communication with key stakeholders, providing regular status updates, reminders, and addressing any concerns promptly. Manage assets. Collect, organize and assess project assets to ensure alignment with project goals. Budget management support: Ensure projects stay within allotted spends assigned by the development and alumni communications team, maintain current job statuses in reporting systems, and assist administrative operations with financial reporting needs. (35%) </li><li>Provide marketing and client support. Develop solutions. Engage effectively with development and alumni team and partners to understand their goals and marketing needs. Translate partner objectives to make product recommendations that align with university's marketing strategies. Coordinate resources, Direct partner inquiries to the appropriate internal or external resources, ensuring all needs are addressed efficiently. (20%) </li><li>Manage cross-functional team collaboration. Work closely with the production manager, development and alumni communications team, graphic designers, project managers, and the print production coordinator to ensure seamless project execution. Support the team. Provide ongoing, constructive feedback and check-ins to the team, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines. Lead communication. Keep production manager and executive director of development/alumni communications informed of day-to-day project developments and any potential challenges. (20%) </li><li>Manage brand identity. Maintain platform; assist in managing key archiving and templating platforms, such as Marq and Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems. Maintain a deep understanding of the visual brand guidelines and offer professional feedback to external partners to ensure consistent and accurate brand identity representation. (20%) </li></ul> <p>NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Industry Awareness - Stay informed: Continuously stay updated on current and emerging trends in marketing, design, and project management to ensure that strategies and processes remain relevant and competitive. (<1%) </li></ul> <p>CONTACTS</p> <p>Department: Continuous contact with the production manager, executive director of development and alumni communications, project managers, print production coordinator and other UMC staff to maintain workflow.</p> <p>University: Regular contact with faculty, staff and alumni to exchange information.</p> <p>External: Occasional contact with university institutional partners and vendors to exchange information.</p> <p>Students: Infrequent interaction with students.</p> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY</p> <p>No supervisory responsibility</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Experience: 3 years of experience in roles that involve project management, client relations, or communications in a marketing environment.</p> <p>Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline</p> <p>REQUIRED SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Strong project management, time management and organizational skills (ability to plan and monitor projects according to specifications, anticipate contingencies, report project statuses, identify delays and problem solve solutions). </li><li>Collaborative mindset with experience working constructively in multi-disciplinary teams. </li><li>Extreme attention to detail with a proven commitment to quality control and consistent processes. </li><li>Self-motivated, positive team leader with a demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire colleagues. </li><li>Ability to facilitate open and effective communication among internal and external teams, one-on-one and in small groups; write precise, well-organized emails, while using appropriate vocabulary and grammar. </li><li>Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback. </li><li>Ability to treat clients with professionalism and respect. </li><li>Demonstrate logic, rationality and objectivity; show common sense; use all available information to make educated decisions. </li><li>Initiative to explore alternatives to existing products and services; identify opportunities to improve procedures and practices. </li><li>Ability to prioritize projects based on strategic objectives and time sensitivities, managing multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables. </li><li>Demonstrated history of successful support, education, and advocacy for all students, aligned with the values, mission, and messaging of the university, while adhering to the staff policy on conflict of commitment and interest. </li><li>Ability to adapt to unexpected developments in an appropriately cooperative and flexible way. </li><li>Ability to meet consistent attendance. </li><li>Technological proficiency in asset management systems, Google and Mac-based environments. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus. </li><li>Ability to succeed in a fast-moving, outcomes-oriented environment, maintaining consistent attendance and effective face-to-face interaction with colleagues and supervisors. </li><li>Experience using project management systems; Asana preferred. </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS</p> <p>General office environment.</p> <p>Hybrid Eligibility</p> <p>This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangement up to two remote days per week at the discretion of the department.
