As a medical assistant for WMed, you will collect patient information related to the patient visit or procedure. Assisting with patient care and administering approved medication is a major part of the day. Assisting physician and team members with clerical, environmental, and organizational responsibilities as well as optimizing education for residents and students in department rotations are some of the unique and satisfying aspects of this position. WMed requires all employees to have proof of initial Covid-19 vaccination series and annual influenza vaccine.</p> <p>To share this posting, please use this link</p> <p>WMed has opportunities for:</p> <p>Medical Assistant I - no certification required! $15.90 - $18.55/hour +, dependent upon experience as a medical assistant or equivalent/relevant clinical position.</p> <p>Medical Assistant II - must have current medical assistant certification (CMA or RMA) and experience in a clinical setting. $17.45 - $20.35/hour +, dependent upon years of experience and certification.</p> <p>Medical Assistant III - must have current medical assistant certification (CMA or RMA) and several years' experience in a clinical setting. Those with leadership and training experience will be given preference. $19.65 - $22.90/hour +, dependent upon years of experience as a medical assistant and leadership experience.</p> <p>We offer a Monday - Friday schedule between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. (nights and weekends off!). Our full time employees receive 8 full-day and 2 half-day paid holidays, an 8 hour preference holiday, 8 hours of paid volunteer time per year, and an extremely generous Paid Time Off (PTO) accrual as well as an annual wellness reimbursement of $300. Tuition reimbursement is available within the first year of full time employment.</p> <p>FULL-TIME BENEFITS PACKAGE:</p> <ul> <li>Wellness reimbursement. </li><li>Continuing education and tuition reimbursement. </li><li>Employer-funded retirement plan. </li><li>Two medical plan options: PPO and High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with employer HSA contribution. </li><li>Flexible work solutions based on position and department. </li><li>Up to four weeks of PTO accrual beginning in year one. </li><li>Paid holidays. </li><li>Paid volunteer time. </li><li>Paid preferred holiday. </li><li>No nights, no weekends. </li></ul> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Assists with patient flow and room assignments. </li><li>Obtains age appropriate vital signs upon admission. </li><li>Collects patient information pertinent to physician visit or procedure. </li><li>Assists physicians and team with treatment, tests, and orders. </li><li>Performs waived testing. </li><li>Administers medication as approved. </li><li>Documents patient care and actions per clinic standard. </li><li>Facilitates scheduling of diagnostic work-up, procedures and referrals. </li><li>Refers abnormal lab work to physician for appropriate follow up. </li><li>Calls in prescription refills. </li><li>Prepares, maintains, and cleans exam rooms. </li><li>Maintains equipment; orders supplies as needed. </li><li>Discusses day to day issues with team leader for resolution. </li><li>Directs incoming calls to appropriate resource. </li><li>Maintains CEUs required by certification/registration. </li><li>Availability to work occasional overtime on weekends or evenings to complete time sensitive projects. </li><li>Acquires knowledge for new technology and policy/procedure revisions. </li><li>All other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of an accredited program or equivalent education or experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Eligible for certification or registration as Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant. </li><li>BLS recommended upon hire, required within 60 days of hire. </li></ul> <p>OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge and proficiency in EMR. </li><li>Ability to collect and document data from patients. </li><li>Knowledge and proficiency in waived testing. </li><li>Knowledge and proficiency in administering medications. </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. </li><li>Ability to meet assigned deadlines. </li><li>Ability to interpret, comprehend, and transmit complicated and detailed instructions accurately. </li><li>Knowledge and proficiency in Outlook. </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to recognize priorities in organization of work flow. </li><li>Able to perform duties independently, with a minimal need for direct supervision. </li></ul>
