<p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Procedure Development and Qualification: </li><li>Design and establish comprehensive ultrasonic inspection procedures for various stainless, Inconel and titanium GTAW welds of thicknesses ranging from .006" to .150" in tubing, considering applicable codes and standards. </li><li>Develop and validate qualification procedures for Level 1 and 2 inspectors, ensuring their competency in ultrasonic testing techniques. </li><li>Evaluate and select appropriate ultrasonic transducers and scanning techniques for specific applications. </li><li>Technical Expertise and Interpretation: </li><li>Analyze complex ultrasonic data, accurately identifying and interpreting weld defects using advanced techniques like phased array and time-of-flight diffraction. </li><li>Provide expert technical guidance on defect evaluation, acceptance criteria, and repair recommendations. </li><li>Stay updated on the latest advancements in ultrasonic testing technology and industry standards. </li><li>Training and Mentorship: </li><li>Train and mentor Level 1 and 2 ultrasonic inspectors, ensuring proper technique and data interpretation. </li><li>Conduct on-the-job training and performance evaluations for inspectors. </li><li>Deliver technical presentations and workshops on ultrasonic testing principles and applications. </li><li>Quality Assurance and Compliance: </li><li>Oversee quality control measures for ultrasonic inspections, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications. These include, but are not limited to AMS 2634, AMS 5561, ASTM 1016. </li><li>Conduct internal audits of inspection processes and procedures to maintain quality standards. </li><li>Obtain and maintain NADCAP certification of the UT process. </li><li>Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions as needed. </li><li>Reporting and Documentation: </li><li>Generate detailed inspection reports with accurate data analysis, defect characterization, and acceptance/rejection decisions. </li><li>Maintain comprehensive documentation of inspection activities, including calibration records and test procedures. </li><li>Other Responsibilities: </li><li>Occasionally aid other departments as need. </li><li>Embrace our culture of Continuous Improvement and Participative Management. </li><li>Reliable and trustworthy. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Certification: </li></ul> <p>Level 3 certification in Ultrasonic Testing from a recognized accreditation body (e.g., ASNT).</p> <ul> <li>Experience: </li></ul> <p>Extensive experience in performing ultrasonic inspections on tubing welds across various alloys and material thicknesses.</p> <ul> <li>Technical Skills: </li></ul> <p>Proficient in operating advanced ultrasonic testing equipment, including phased array systems and data analysis software.</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge: </li></ul> <p>Deep understanding of welding codes and standards, materials science, and non-destructive testing principles.</p> <ul> <li>Communication Skills: </li></ul> <p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information to stakeholders.</p> <ul> <li>Other Preferred Qualifications: </li></ul> <p>Level 1,2, or 3 certifications to one or more of the following testing methods: LPI, ECT or Xray.</p> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>May require occasional travel to different project locations. </li></ul>
