<p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>Works under supervision and is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of Santa Cruz Seaside Company property and the City of Santa Cruz Main Beach. Support other departments with various items including digging, sandblasting, demolishing projects, moving office furniture and files, and hauling materials. Class B drivers drive the garbage truck to off-site dump. Clean up of blood or bodily fluid.</p> <p>UNIQUE JOB REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Wear Company issued uniform. Most work is outside and work shift may start as early as 4:00 a.m. Must be able to work 7 days per week. Job duties may involve use of heavy equipment. May work around dust and chemical fumes. May be required to wear hardhats, gloves, boots, belts, dust masks, goggles and earplugs.</p> <p>Full-time Team Members are required to possess and maintain a Class B drivers license, are subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing and other DOT requirements.</p> <p>JOB TASKS (IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):</p> <ul> <li>Clean up litter and debris in parking lots, around buildings and on the City beach. </li><li>Sweep, polish and scrub outside of buildings, ride areas, rides and Company features. </li><li>Follow specific verbal and written instructions. </li><li>Document work completed. </li><li>Empty trash containers. </li><li>Sort recyclable materials from trash and compress and bundle recyclables for redemption. </li><li>Operate hand/push carts. </li><li>Operate company vehicles such as Cushman and may on occasionally operate the Tennant Sweepers or Tennant Scrubbers. </li><li>May provide support to other departments with heavy tasks as needed. </li><li>May provide vacation relief in other job positions or be on call. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Class B Drivers:</p> <ul> <li>Perform all of above job tasks </li><li>Regularly drive and/or operate: </li><li>Garbage Truck </li><li>Forklifts </li><li>Beach Cleaner </li><li>Tennant Sweepers </li><li>Tennant Scrubbers </li><li>Cat Loader </li><li>Masco Air Sweep </li><li>Swap Bed Truck </li><li>John Deere Crawler </li><li>Bobcat (Skid Steer) </li><li>Case Backhoe </li></ul> <p>RELATIONSHIPS INTERNAL:</p> <p>All levels of Santa Cruz Seaside Company Team Members.</p> <p>RELATIONSHIPS EXTERNAL:</p> <p>Minimal Guest contact.</p> <p>TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Prior custodial or manual labor experience desirable, which includes some experience cleaning buildings and equipment.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to follow safety practices and proper lifting techniques. </li><li>Ability to learn to operate a variety of support equipment, including fork lifts, motorized carts, beach cleaning machine, garbage truck and other heavy equipment. </li><li>Ability to follow verbal and written directions. </li><li>Ability to learn and apply the methods of cleaning and caring for building maintenance and equipment. </li><li>Ability to open and lock doors and windows as well as turning lights on and off. </li><li>Ability to report unusual conditions/circumstances, work required, or suspected vandalism/graffiti to supervisor. </li><li>Ability to document work completed in a timely fashion. </li><li>Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to stand and walk for seven and one half hours. </li><li>Able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground to shoulder heights up to 160 times per day. </li><li>Able to carry 25-50 pounds. </li><li>Able to walk 2 miles per day minimum. </li><li>Able to carry 5 gallon bucket which may exceed 15 pounds when filled </li><li>Bi-manual dexterity </li><li>Ability to safely perform heavy, fatiguing work; crawling, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, and lifting containers </li></ul> <p>materials, and equipment.</p> <p>LICENSES AND INSURANCE:</p> <p>Valid U.S. Drivers License at time of hire.</p> <p>Required to possess and maintain a class B California Drivers License.</p> <p>TESTING:</p> <p>Reference Check</p> <p>Drug Screen</p> <p>Criminal Background Check</p> <p>Respirator Exam</p>
