<p>Position Information</p> <p>Position Information (Default Section)</p> <p>EEO Statement</p> <p>Wright State University is an equal opportunity employer.</p> <p>Faculty Rank or Job Title STEM School Elementary Paraprofessional- Kindergarten Job Category: Administrative (exempt/non-exempt) Department College of Health, Education and Human Services EEO number: 26H066 Position FTE</p> <p>100%</p> <p>Minimum Annual or Hourly Rate $20.00/hour Salary Band: UC HR4 Job Summary/Basic Function:</p> <p>The STEM Paraprofessional at the elementary level plays a vital role in supporting both students and educators by reinforcing instructional goals, managing classroom activities, and contributing to a positive and productive learning environment. This position includes assisting with lesson delivery, supporting student behavior and engagement, and helping with classroom logistics and organization. The paraprofessional also collects data to inform instructional decisions and may provide specialized support services based on student needs.</p> <p>The position is a school year only, while students are in session.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Must have valid Ohio Department of Education Educational Aide Permit by the first day of school </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with staff and maintain a positive, student-focused approach </li><li>Must pass a background check </li></ul> <p>? A high school diploma or training and experience that are considered equivalent.</p> <p>ONE of the following requirements is needed for compliance:</p> <p>? Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (defined as 48 semester or 72 quarter hours as verified by college transcript from an accredited institution of higher education); OR</p> <p>? Obtain an associate (or higher) degree from an accredited institution of higher education (defined as any associate degree program from an accredited institution of higher education); OR</p> <p>? Meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment - (i) knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and mathematics; or (ii) knowledge of, and the ability to assist in readiness for reading, writing, and mathematics.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Experience and/or training with preschool aged students</p> <p>Essential Functions and percent of time:</p> <p>60% - Instructional Support:</p> <ul> <li>Assist teachers with lesson implementation, classroom activities, and student engagement. </li><li>Support positive behavior strategies and help manage classroom routines. </li><li>Reinforce learning objectives in both individual and small-group settings. </li></ul> <p>20% - Data Collection:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with tracking student progress and behavior through informal observation and data entry. </li><li>Work collaboratively with teachers to monitor learning goals and outcomes </li></ul> <p>10% - Communication:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain professional communication with teachers, staff, students and parent about student progress and needs </li></ul> <p>10% - Specialized Support:</p> <ul> <li>Provide targeted and/or specialized support to students with specific academic or behavioral needs </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions and percent of time (cont'd): Non-Essential Functions and percent of time: Working Conditions</p> <p>This is a grant funded position with continuation dependent on funding.
