<p>Specialist, Transfer</p> <p>Department: Transfer Center</p> <p>Location: Western Campus</p> <p>Reports To: Director, Transfer Center</p> <p>Recruitment Type: External/Internal</p> <p>Requisition ID: req6032</p> <p>Employment Type: Full-Time Support Staff</p> <p>Union Position: Non-Union</p> <p>Work Schedule: Standard College Hours: M-F, 8:30am-5pm) Some evenings and weekends as needed</p> <p>Number of Openings: 1</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>SUMMARY</p> <p>Provides transfer planning services to all students interested in transferring their Tri-C degree, coursework, and credits to another institution. Utilizes one-on-one planning appointments, programming, and ongoing communications to support the student population throughout their academic journey, promote retention and completion, and promote the College's mission and values. Collaborates and communicates with transfer stakeholders, including faculty, staff, internal/external stakeholders, and four-year institutions, to ensure students receive comprehensive support to achieve their educational and career goals.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provides individualized and holistic guidance and support to current, prospective, and former students in the transfer planning process, from exploration to matriculation to the transfer destination</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains accurate and timely documentation of student appointment outcomes, communication, and transfer plans in the designated software system(s)</p> </li><li> <p>Guides students through the transfer and scholarship application process, connects students with four-year partner counterparts, and aids students in scheduling transfer advising appointments</p> </li><li> <p>Connects students to the appropriate internal and external resources needed to support their academic, career, and financial plans</p> </li><li> <p>Engages with special populations to increase conversion to degree-seeking tracks and increase degree-completion rates</p> </li><li> <p>Leads all transfer stakeholder communications and outreach with designated Campus, School(s), and District departments, including student and stakeholder emails, class visits, and informational meetings</p> </li><li> <p>Leads, manages, and assesses transfer-related programming such as transfer fairs, school/discipline-specific programming, webinars, podcasts, and campus visits</p> </li><li> <p>Serves as a liaison/representative of the Campus Transfer Centers to a designated Campus, School(s), and campus and college-wide committees</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborates with various College and campus departments on retention and completion initiatives</p> </li><li> <p>Represents the department at college-wide events to community constituents in support of the College's mission</p> </li><li> <p>Develops and maintains knowledge of all College transfer partnerships and pathways to ensure students receive accurate and timely information</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborates with the Articulation, Transfer, and Prior Learning Department on transfer partnership development, providing vital information on student needs, interests, and engagement with four-year schools</p> </li><li> <p>Establishes and maintains relationships with four-year school representatives through campus visits, regular meetings, and ongoing communications</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with metric and outcome tracking and report preparation</p> </li><li> <p>May functionally supervises interns and support staff</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING</p> <ul> <li> <p>Master's degree in education or a related field</p> </li><li> <p>Significant related experience may substitute for education</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of three years of demonstrated post-secondary student services experience</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience providing support directly to students in a post-secondary setting</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem-solving methods in a variety of situations</p> </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Possess working knowledge of ethical and holistic advising, student retention and completion concepts, practices, and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Possess strong organizational and time-management skills and is results-driven.</p> </li><li> <p>Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated understanding of current transfer and industry ideas, trends, practices, and workforce needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated intermediate project management skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated intermediate event planning and management skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using student information systems and other relevant software.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and changing However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite</p> </li></ul> <p>Target Starting Salary Range: $51,675 to $54,325</p> <p>The final offer for the successful candidate is targeted to fall within this range but will be based upon an assessment of internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred job requirement(s).</p> <p>Special Note: If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.</p> <p>Special Instructions to Applicants: During the application process, you may be required to attach a cover letter and/or resume.
