Our environment requires durability, rapid response, and strong operational leadership.</p> <p>We are seeking a dependable, high-character Facilities & Campus Operations Technician who understands that a safe physical environment directly impacts student regulation, staff confidence, and program success.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Facilities & Campus Operations Technician is responsible for maintaining both school buildings (3880 & 3881), grounds, and operational systems to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained campus.</p> <p>This role is hands-on and proactive. The right candidate will take ownership of the campus as if it were their own property.</p> <p>Core Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li>Building Maintenance & Repair </li></ol> <ul> <li>Repair walls, doors, drywall, and fixtures damaged during behavioral incidents </li><li>Maintain secure door hardware and locks </li><li>Replace lighting and maintain electrical fixtures </li><li>Conduct HVAC filter changes and assist with system monitoring </li><li>Basic plumbing repairs (toilets, sinks, leaks) </li><li>Paint, patch, and maintain high-durability surfaces </li><li>Maintain classrooms to ensure safety compliance </li><li>Complete preventative maintenance checklists </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Safety & Environmental Integrity </li></ol> <ul> <li>Conduct daily safety walkthroughs of both buildings </li><li>Identify and correct hazards immediately </li><li>Ensure classrooms meet CPI-informed safety expectations </li><li>Maintain secure storage areas </li><li>Ensure exits and pathways remain clear </li><li>Assist with compliance inspections </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>Groundskeeping </li></ol> <ul> <li>Lawn mowing and edging </li><li>Shrub and tree trimming </li><li>Debris and trash removal </li><li>Seasonal snow and ice removal </li><li>Parking lot and sidewalk maintenance </li><li>Exterior safety monitoring </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li>Operational Support </li></ol> <ul> <li>Event setup and breakdown </li><li>Furniture relocation and secure installation </li><li>Equipment assembly and installation </li><li>Supply organization </li><li>Assist with building improvements and renovations </li><li>All other duties as assigned by the Executive Team </li></ul> <p>Behavioral School-Specific Expectations</p> <p>This is not a passive maintenance role.</p> <p>You must be able to:</p> <ul> <li>Respond quickly to classroom damage </li><li>Repair walls/fixtures with durability in mind </li><li>Think ahead about student safety </li><li>Maintain calm professionalism in high-stress situations </li><li>Work around active classroom environments </li></ul> <p>Character Requirements</p> <p>We are looking for someone who:</p> <ul> <li>Takes initiative without waiting to be told </li><li>Works independently </li><li>Is reliable and punctual </li><li>Maintains professionalism around students </li><li>Understands confidentiality </li><li>Respects structured leadership </li></ul> <p>At The Behavior Helper Academy:</p> <ul> <li>We value stewardship. </li><li>We value follow-through. </li><li>We value excellence. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>2+ years general maintenance experience </li><li>Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry </li><li>Ability to lift 50+ lbs </li><li>Comfortable working indoors and outdoors </li><li>Valid driver's license </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in school or institutional setting </li><li>HVAC familiarity </li><li>Trade certification </li><li>Experience in behavioral or special education environments </li></ul> <p>Schedule</p> <ul> <li>Full-time </li><li>Monday-Friday (with occasional extended hours) </li><li>On-call for urgent facility needs </li></ul> <p>Compensation</p> <ul> <li>Competitive pay based on experience </li><li>Paid time off </li><li>Benefits (for full time) </li><li>Stable year-round employment </li></ul>
