<p>Description:</p> <p>The University of Houston-Downtown Department of English seeks qualified and committed instructors for the position of Adjunct Faculty in our First-Year Composition (FYC) or Technical Communication (TC) programs.</p> <p>Depending on experience and departmental needs, hired instructors will teach one of the following schedules:</p> <ul> <li>Two or more in-person sections of ENG 1301 (Composition I) and/or ENG 1302 (Composition II) throughout a 16-week fall/spring semester </li><li>Two or more In-person or online sections of TCOM 3302 (Business and Technical Writing) throughout a 16-week fall/spring semester </li></ul> <p>Adjunct faculty are eligible for benefits if they teach three or more 16-week sections in a semester.</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>ENG 1301 and/or ENG 1302: PhD or MA in English (or directly related discipline) </li><li>TCOM 3302: PhD or MA in Technical Communication (or directly related discipline) </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>ENG 1301 and/or ENG 1302: Experience teaching college-level FYC courses as instructor of record </li><li>TCOM 3302: Experience teaching college-level business/professional/technical writing courses as instructor of record </li></ul> <p>To apply, candidates must submit a resume or curriculum vitae and a cover letter.
