<p>Description</p> <p>The Counseling and Psychology Departments at Springfield College invites applications for a one-year, nine-month assistant professor appointment to provide teaching, supervision and mentorship in a split position between Psychology and Counseling.</p> <p>The successful candidate will be joining two dynamic Departments that include an undergraduate psychology major, a disability studies and counseling minor, an APA accredited PsyD counseling psychology program, and Masters counseling programs in CACREP accredited Clinical Mental Health, Rehabilitation Counseling and a DESE accredited school counseling program. We have a large, and newly updated CMHC - Athletic Counseling Concentration program that leads to both clinical licensure and CMPC eligibility.</p> <p>Founded in 1885, Springfield College is a private, coeducational institution offering undergraduate and graduate programs that reflect its distinctive Humanics Philosophy - the education of the whole person in spirit, mind, and body for leadership in service to humanity. Comprehensive compensation details, including any additional benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Position responsibilities include teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Courses may include Child/Human Development, Health Psychology, Research Methods, Motivation and Learning, Psychology of Sport Injury or other coursework across our undergraduate psychology and graduate Athletic Counseling - Clinical Mental Health Counseling programs. There are also opportunities to support graduate student research and mentor and supervise fieldwork, as well as possibly teach and advise students in the online graduate Counseling program option.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Successful candidates must have an earned degree in counseling, clinical or counseling psychology with a preferred specialty in sport or performance psychology or athletic counseling, and must be listed on the AASP Registry of Approved Mentors. </li><li>A doctoral degree is preferred, and experience working with athletes and/or performers is highly recommended. </li></ul> <p>Initial review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled with an employment date of August 25, 2026.
